WIP: F-14 B/D
-
Sadly it looks like it is dead
Started in Dec 2015 and now we have Feb 2020. I had so much hope to see a F-14D in BMS or even a useable (not perfect) cockpit for the F-14’s at least.
Stingray will get to it, he’s a long time Falcon person. Some people, including myself have other priorities in our life’s and it takes time.
With all things, especially Falcon, be patient, he’ll be back, no doubt!!

Great news
I know how life sometimes could be.
I’m starting now for the fifth or sixth time to built my homepit. Hope this time my dreams from the past over twenty years come true.
The first time I started with it, was 1998. Now we have 2020 and I never was able to fly one single mission in my pit
Every time I reached a state close to finish, things changed and I had no more time for it. Then, after a few years of intermission I had to start from scratch again.
What makes me skeptical about this project was, that you didn’t hear anything about it for such a long time now and also the change from 4.33 to 4.34 which, maybe, made work already done incompatible now. I have no clue about this, cause I’m no coder, but I had the fear he gave up with it cause to much had to be done from scratch again. As said this was only an assumption.
I’m looking forward to it and hope we could fly one of the best fighters, ever seen the light of day, in BMS also somewhere in the future

He did a wonderful job till now and its a shame if this go all to trash… I know how RL can be a obstacle to all of our hobbies, things we want to do etc. Beiing un employed right now it helps me finish a lot of projects i had (and have) for BMS and also enjoy as much as i can my free time doing things i always wanted but i couldnt cause of work mainly…
Lets hope he will give us a glipse of hope for this one!Cheers

I understand completely. I was unemployed for a while in the past, and I worked on theaters every day and it didn’t take too long to put them out, but now I’m back to work and I don’t have as much time to work on theaters.
People come into my threads asking when things are going to be converted to the current version of BMS, that’s okay, but they just need to be patient.
Most people here can recall how long BMS was out of the public eye, some are new and don’t know that was for quite a few years. But they eventually surfaced and the rest is history!
Thank for your work Manos……it is never ending for those of us who do it!
Cheers,

That makes three of us, then!
I was unemployed also for some 5 or 6 months back in 2015, and by that time I was spending around 8 to 10 hours a day working on airbase development and other stuff for POH Theater.
Now, with current job, 3 little kids and a not-so-hobby-friendly wife :), and things get harder to dedicate some free time to continue with it.So let’s keep the faith and patiently wait until Stingray may present us with his so long waited Tomcat for us to enjoy.
Fingers crossed

…3 little kids and a not-so-hobby-friendly wife
Boy, no-shit, every time I even move towards my desk, I get a dirty look from someone that has their nose burriend in a smartphone 14/7…

Oh yes, especially wifes are a big problem with this hobby! I’m turning 50 years now this month and my kids are grown up, so no more “familiy”-stuff, but my exwife and also my new girlfriend now, never really liked my hobby much.
Talking about my homepit isn’t a good idea. It always makes the mood bad.

Divorce solved that issue for me!!
Two oldest girls(38/37) all grown and out on their own, my youngest daughter, 27, lives with me.
Life is good!

I find the smartphone comment amusing.
People, for better or worse, tend to be unkind to what they don’t understand. For instance, I have limited space available for hobbies and projects, so I’d understand not being a fan of a homepit. They also can cost a fortune (also something I’m lacking), so there’s another thing that could be griped at. But the technical and artistic achievement of them can often be truly impressive. So, if you have the means, why not?
Likewise, for the ladies in question, I’m certain that they had their own “frivolous” pursuits which only they could comprehend as worthwhile. What makes reading about these matters saddening is that a compromise apparently could not be made.
…But then, I don’t know. I’m convinced women don’t like me. Eff this stupid life.
By the way, I laugh every time I see your signature image, Ara.

Yep great cinematics, I like the smoke/flames look. Too bad core body of this sim is not up to the visuals.

It’s a great video. I hope the BMS team will bring this legendary F-14 to the BMS world as soon as possible.
