Printing the Manuals
-
Went to AlphaGraphics at lunch today with the idea of printing / binding the BMS manuals . . . I prefer the tactile use of a hard copy to a PDF on a screen. When they emailed me the quote I ‘bout fell over. Are you friggin’ kidding me? I checked and I can buy the stuff to do it myself for about $300:mad2:

I did that for printing my Falcon/FSX stuff also.
I got a Samsung CLP-680ND for about $200(about 5 years ago), then a set of new toners is another $200 and good for 2500 pages.
Yours suggests 650 pages two sided, so 1300 sides you could definitely save a few quid doing it yourself. -
I was in your boat. Thought about printing them at my office. Oh man the cost!! That’s why I powered through with them on the tablet. After a bit of going through them, you’ll know the basics or at least which manual to thumb through to find what you’re looking for. If you have a way to just print just a section that your stuck on, may be your best bet.

that’s about 3 times the price you’d pay by Lulu (and you get nice covers)
the 300$ you estimated if you print it on your own, is about right, it’s in the same ballpark as the Lulu’s priceeven 300 is expensive, but paper and ink is costly indeed

This gives me the perfect excuse to get a tablet. Cheaper, takes up less space, and can be used for other things. I’m sure the wife will approve.

Tread lightly on that one.

Just buy the printed manuals Red Dog did from lulu, do one at a time and it won’t seem as bad…

+1 on the manuals from Lulu, they are top-notch quality and you won’t be disappointed.
Now, if only they would offer these in spiral bound…
