I have no clue where you are pointing at
?? I gave you the link to the thread and the Post that explains you WILL get a CTD if you have over 7 ground links on any give objective and you have no clue??
Regardless, I just added enough links to Seoul in Stock KTO theater Save0(Tiger Spirit) to make 12 ground links at Seoul and on exit, BMS CTD!!(I didn’t adjust anything else except adding ground links to Seoul.)
Here’s the file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/1q0nom6mm6pdflu/save0.cam/file
All you have to do is start that Tiger Spirt campaign, let it run for a bit for aircraft to get in the air and exit, you will get a CTD!!
Cheers,
C9

This is a screenshot from an exported MC Objective CSV.
There are only 100 Data Fields in the Campaign files, not only in MC, but the same was true for TacEdit, once that is exceeded by too many ground links, the CTD will occur! Normally that would be a max of 7 ground links, there may be an instance where some objective would be able to have 8, but I haven’t found any, possibly a bridge?
Edit: By the way, you don’t have to run it until aircraft get in the air, just starting the campaign and exiting will produce the Exit CTD.

Ok… You get a CTD, but I don’t… Doesn’t really matter as that was not the core of the post I did.
Yes restrict it to max 7 to avoid a CTD. But even 7 is already a little too much. The code to find the path around the theater is ok, but not great. Having less links (but not too few) will help this part of the code to run better.
How much exactly, well I am not going to tell a number as that would be counter productive.
Just try to avoid large amount of links and the campaign engine can do a better job.Gr Falcas

You get a CTD, but I don’t…
I don’t buy it!!
This was tested with multiple people in the thread I linked to and EVERYONE got the CTD!
At any rate, it does matter, you said you could have 10 or 12 links and there wouldn’t be a CTD…NOT TRUE.
I’m done dickering around with you, in the end you ALWAYS need to be right and can’t prove yourself!:roll:
C9

Man you are unbelievable.
I don’t need to prove nothing as I am not claming anything.
I don’t care about this CTD, don’t you get that from my previous post?
You are not dickering around with me… you are doing that all with yourself.Gr Falcas

Sorry to step in the middle of the peace talks :D, but it’s just to give my 2 cents.
During POH development, we have tested several times that, in fact, if any objective has more than 8 links (link #0 through link #7), no issue is detected during flight but, after exiting the mission, we always get a CTD.
Removing excessive links from those objectives solved the issue and was thoroughly debated some time ago.
Cheers, guys!

Thanks Nuno.
However, the explanation has nothing to do about CTD or not. It’s just that C9 wants to talk about his CTD.
Focusing on this CTD is pointless. For who can read between the line “I don’t have this CTD”.
If you still don’t get it I am sorry. Please read again. First of all if you just follow this you won’t get an CTD in the first place.
But what is more important is having as few as possible links to one Obj so the code just works better. Can’t give you a good answer to this one as it is not so black and white
The links are needed so the campaign engine can find its way around the theater.
If there is no link between Obj A and B, the battalions will not move that route. That said, you need enough links to make it work.
But the code can not correctly handle massive and massive amount of links.
Try to restrict the amount of links to one Obj. If needed route the links through an Obj close by to “share the load”Am getting pretty sick of this aggressive tone of C9, so I am not going to help out here on the forum anymore.
Way to much work to do in anther forum.Falcas out

Aggressive tone…LMAO!!!
You most certainly did claim something:
For example a city with 10-12 links will not work so good. (no you won’t get a CTD)
Edit: If you hadn’t claimed something(see your quote above), that is untrue, this conversation would never taken place!!
Regardless, it’s NOT just a CTD that I only get, as Nunos stated and reaffirmed it has to do with a CTD that happens any time there are excessive links and experienced by many people!
Aren’t you a part of the BMS team? Nice to know that a member of the team says that ANY CTD doesn’t matter. I have always believed that the BMS team has done everything possible to circumvent and prevent any CTD possible. But now I see, at least one doesn’t really care! What a shame. Never seen Dee-Jay or Mav-jp react in this manner to an issue like this! Hmmm……
Also, as I noted, this was an issue with TacEdit also, reproduced and confirmed just like now. You act like I’m coming in here and attacking you, that’s not the case, I’m letting you know there is a problem, and I’m totally positive with a minor code change it can be fixed.
Yet you won’t have any of it because you really don’t care. Pretty sad!!

You have had multiple hints in multiple previous posts.
I can’t help it if you don’t read and specially if you don’t understand a hint.As its the only thing that matters for you and you can’t even stop and count to 10… Totally agree with you and YOU are right.
YOU get a CTD.
Now ask yourself WHY I don’t get a CTD. With a little luck you can now start to understand why this CTD is a total non-issue.
Especially that it is explained why think about campaign engine when you work on Links, the CTD should not be a issue for you as well.
And as it is a total non-issue, you can also understand that I don’t care about it.I am very sorry to see you are so frustrated about this CTD and you only want to take it out on me.
Go find another place to discuss this as I didn’t even want to discuss it in the first place. So this was my last and final post about this.
Have a happy day

Ok you’ve found a bug which does go back to original Microprose Code…
So cheers for you!
:woohoo:What Falcas is talking about is something completely different.
If you’re flooding the campaign with objectives with lots of links, path finding for 2D engine (ground units) will get horrible slow as complexity for the algorithm doing this does skyrocket.Biker

Is the mission data tab a wip? it will be available some day?

Are sure? …
Funny fact is : Falcas is certainly one of the coolest and kindest guy of the team. … I mean it.

Are the “names” of the pilots hardcoded? I change them in MC but in game remains the same…. i know has nothing to do with what you said im just asking you sorry

Pilot names are stored in the Stings. See the Strings tab to edit the names.

Thanks a lot.
And is that available to extend slots for valid AC list on MC?
Whenever I use the edit korea 2012 campaign by MC , Top of slot 192 message box is pop up.
I checked that actual valid A/C for Korea 2012 theater is 195 but MC’s slots are 192. So I can’t choose F35A or B in any campaign.Have a good day sir!
