No IFF in stock KTO campaigns?
-
Returning flyer learning the new systems and loving every minute. After working through all the tutorials and most of the manuals, i decided to give “Rolling fire” a bash and WOW its a wonderful ‘alive thing’ to take part in.
However, I cant seem to get IFF working in the campaign. It works in tge tutorials. The jet i’m in has the new IFF panel instead of the backup TACAN one, and all the IFF stuff is in the DED, but there’s no mode selection option on OSB 16 and TMS left does nothing. Am i;
- Doing it wrong (most likely. I’ve not read all the IFF stuff in the dash-1 yet). Starting from taxiway so its not like i’ve not turned something on. Probably.
- Flying an old jet without IFF, (even though all the systems seem to point to it being installed?).
First campaign I’ve started in over 10 years so am prepared to get myself blown to bits but want to make sure everything in the jet works before i break it properly .

If you’re starting from the taxiway, the IFF Master selector may be in standby. Make sure it is set to “Normal.” I’m can’t remember if it defaults to Standby or Normal when doing a taxiway start.
EDIT: The selector is on the left console with the rest of the manual IFF controls. Page 19, 1.2.1.5 in the -1.

Not all planes have IFF interrogator. Which one are you flying exactly ?

You see IFF as a big block with both interrogation and reply, it is not Those functions are separate.
The transponder is there, which is why you have the ‘IFF stuff in the DED’, as you put it and the IFF panel.
So if TMS Left does nothing and you dont have M on the MFD corner, the interrogation might not be installed on your particular F-16 variant. Which is easy to confirm if you go to the LIST page, and you dont see INTG, you dont have interrogation capacity And if the 3D model was correctly updated, you should see an absence of the ‘bird slicers’ antenna on the top of the nose.

How do i find that? Squadron lists “F-16c ROKAF” in OOB. No details that i can see.

Yep, you’re bang on the money. A big blank next to “R”. No interrogator.
Is there a way to cherry pick a squadron with the best toys? It seems a shame to have trained to use this stuff and have it taken away as soon as i start a campaign.

The block 32 rokaf does not have interrogator.
The block 52 rokaf has it.Use the block 52
