Saitek X-52 Profile
-
New here and new to Falcon 4 BMS. I have played with AF but stuggled with bad profiles and I wasn’t very good at creating my own.
I downloaded this profile and I have to say it is excellent! very intuitive… I’m really enjoying Falcon now.I have one problem though, and I’ve posted it here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?8589-Saitek-X52-and-Logitech-G25-wheel
Thanks again

All instructions followed.
When I went to check dxdiag it showed my X-52 ID as 0, my pedals (CH Pro) as 1. I have no other game controllers connected to my rig.
In the controller properties, the pinky is indeed #6.
When I load up the game (setup) and verify numbers, it has my trigger #1 as Input Button: 33. Apparently the game is recognizing it as the second device regardless of it being the preferred controller.
After reading the entire topic it seems that I’m not the only one that has had this problem, but I didn’t find a method/trick to fix it.
Could someone please share their solution that doesn’t involve simming without pedals?

Add 32 to the numbers at the bottom of your key file, first line should read simFirstTriggerDetent 0 -1 (and more x 1 and 0 and 2)
Add 32 to the first number: SimFirstTriggerDetent 32 -1 (x0x 1x2)
And do the same with the ones below.
Open it in notes? And save when you are done.
Cheers

Hi
How do i DLink the flight package (ctrl + o)?
Hey there…
On your FCR press “Assign” (I believe OBS 6) once to read “Cont”, then hold your throttle hat left for ~2 seconds.
Cheers!

A bit “off topic”, but! I am working with a group call “Virtual Flight Academy” which plans site all over the country to involve students (high school - college + selected military officers awaiting flight training) in military aviation. All locations will have the same hardware/software, including the X52Pro. I am developing a X52Pro profile for several aircraft they will fly. This requires modifying the the function/keys assigned in FSX. I have tried to forward the “standard.xml” from FSX( the one in the control folder) and the X52Pro profile, so all locations are “standardized”.
My problem is that my system has CH pro pedals vice Saitek. (I am not including any profile for the pedals).
When the locations replace their “standard.xml” file, FSX does not recognize the “joystick buttons” I have assigned in the profile. Been told it has something to do with the method FSX “sees” controllers.
Does anyone have any ideas how the “work around” this problem, except reassigning the functions in FSX at each site? -
Hey
Simply had to come to say u million thanks! I have been using your profile for a while and it’s simply awesome, I’m quite sure if I had to have done this myself I would have sliced my wrists open, always so damn much controls in flightsims :DD and not even wanting to go to the topic how not nearly as good my controll configs would have been so again million thanks simply awesome work!

Where is the comms switch left? Can’t find it in the control menu after I used your setup (the on you have to hold down the DELETE button so you can see your wingmen). You have changed a lot of the standard keyboard inputs, I managed to find the other ones but not the comms switch left. HELP!!!

Hey guys new to BMS, and I am missing something because Ive tried to get two seperate profiles to work with no joy. I followed the steps and it seems the only things that stick are the rotary and ministick. Axis and throttle also work but none of the buttons. I load the profile in SST before I open BMS and I load and apply the .key file from the list and still get no guns no gear or flaps ect Im befuddled. I am 90% sure Im just missing something but dont know what
I am having this same issue. Another thing that I think is wrong is that precision slider is controlling the throttle. Very odd, I followed the directions multiple times.

I use the “left control” key for my comm on TS

Need some help. Followed all instructions…but when I select the keyfile and controller in bms, I have no throttle response. Any ideas? Also, can one of the saitek guru’s tell me what the latest drivers and software for the x52 is? The saitek website is really confusing. I see that there is programming software versions 7.0.2.7, 7.0.2.9, 7.0.11.47 9 (all for 64 bit), and driver verison 6.0.4.1, but what is the latest and best to use with this profile. This is really frustrating. Thanks for any insight.

Hey kingsnake…
If I remember correctly the throttle isn’t assigned or is assigned to something else for some reason. Check the Advanced tab - I think the solution is in there.
Cheers!

I’ve had the X52 almost since it was first released and I’m not familiar with a few functions I noticed in the profile. When did the software start using short and long commands? I want to modify the controls slightly (I don’t want to wait half a second when to start dropping flares, that’s just me).

You can set the delay to anything you want. It is set by changing a parameter in the bms config file, and has nothing to do with the profile. However, I find that a delay of 0.5s works perfectly fine.
