A Guide to Morphine’s Profile for BMS 4.33 and Beyond

Dropping this Target profile helper here that I’ve been using for some time. This quickly kills the Windows Store so you can run the profile without the app blocking the virtual device.
Right click on your Desktop, select New, select Shortcut.
Copy and paste this into ‘Type the location of the item’: C:\Windows\System32\taskkill.exe /f /im WinStore.App.exe
Select next. Name it WinStore Killer or whatever you wish. Click finish. Run the shortcut right before you run Target. Profit. -
Thanks GhastlyTT,
That is exactly what I Design to solve the issue and work perfectly

Gastone,
I’m an old Falcon 4.0 driver from the old days of the 1.08 patch and TM FLCS HOTAS. Back when multiplayer with your squadron mates was a crap shoot. When I say old, I mean that literally! So, please forgive me for what I’m about to ask. Keep in mind that I have read BMS manuals the last few weeks until my eyes have developed a need for new glasses. I’ve read dozens of posts on here (many which seem somewhat to contradict one another) about the many questions which have popped into my feeble brain. So be gentle with the senior citizen here. I’m running a newly built system with MSI Z390, Intel i7 9700k, 32 Gb DDR4, GeForce GTX 1660, 1 Tb SSD, 1Tb HDD. That’s probably the main part of the hardware. I’m less than a year out from retirement from the teaching/coaching profession (that which pulled me away from flying RL and virtually in the first place), so I decided to get back to flying F4. I bought a new TM Warthog stick/throttle combined. I have installed everything per your instructions. No problems so far. My question(s): Using Morphine’s profile, do I select the “idle cutoff detent” in the configuration menu or not? I have set the idle detent and AB detent in Setup/Controllers in the UI. I’ve done a limited bit of flying just because I couldn’t stand it any longer. The AB seems to work fine. However, I have not done a cold start yet or tried cutting the engine off by lifting the throttle over the idle stop. Newton said, “if I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” Well, I don’t want to see further, but I do want to learn from the hard work of others. That may seem lazy (and maybe it is), but I do believe in learning from those who know more than me. Time is a precious commodity, and I want to make the most of the flying time I have.
Thanks in advance,

Bronc,
Welcome back to the party. Feel free to ask all the questions you like we’re all here to help. Feel free to PM me too. You do have to the idle cutoff box checked in the setup for the warthog throttle idle detents to work. Just a tip on the cold start too, make sure to wake the throttle axis up before starting the JFS. When you start the sim the throttle won’t be synced with the joystick. So move the joystick in and out of idle then back into idle before you start the jet. -
Thanks for the help. I will give it a go.

Dear all,
I have enjoyed this warthog profile (Morphine’s Profile for BMS 4.33 and Beyond by Gastone) since years. Congrats again for the great work. I have been now using VoiceAttack and the great AVCS4 profile but I am struggling with using the push-to-talk linked to VHF/UHF. When pressing these, there is no reactions from VoiceAttack.
Does anyone use this profile with AVCS4 and does it work with the UHF/VHF function ?

Hello,
Has anybody tried to use the Morphine (Gastone) profile (.key file) with Alternative Launcher mod ?
Apparently it will solve all the problems related to the Warthog HOTAS… just need to rename the Morphine key file “BMS Full.key” (check the correct name) and load it.
Anybody tried ?
Will do myself tomorrow and report back. -
Curious, what exactly are the problems that it would solve? I’ve been using this target profile and key file without issue.

Swiso could never get target to run correctly. He kept getting combine root. Maybe he should try your fix and kill the windows store.

Hi Gastone, yes my problems are the ones you mentioned.
I am not sure the solution you mention is relevant to my case since I have Windows 7… and from what I know, Windows store exe file appeared only with Windows 8 and later….
I will try the Alternative Launcher app and report back.

ThanksHave you tried using the event viewer to see what’s conflicting with target?
https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/identify-software-conflicts-system-log.htmlOr making sure power saving for USB is off and disabled for the hotas?

It’s a new version of target for the airbus stuff. Both versions of the profile should still work. All they did was add support for the new TCA to target. If the profile works for you as is, no need to update target. If it is working for you I would actually recommend not upgrading target, since it can be so unpredictable.
The only reason there are two profile is Version 5.XX excludes the TPR pedals from the script. The only reason I’ve kept Version 4.xx in the dropbox is because if you run a old version of target, with Profile 5, target throws an error and the script doesn’t work. I will be dropping support for version 4 the next time the profile is updated.

Am I missing the FLAPS switch in your profile for the HOTAS?
What do you all use for setting flaps?
Also, many of the functions are working fine in the profile but the SpeedBrakes have no function set in the controls?

Flaps are handled by the FLCS. No switch on the real HOTAS

Got it!
Any reason why my speed brake throttle switch is not functioning?
Thanks!

Probably because something isn’t properly configured on your end. Did you set up device sorting? Is target working? Look at the first page most of the trouble shooting is covered there. If you can’t figure it out post pics of your devicesorting.txt contents and list what devices in your joystick control panel with the profile running. There’s also pics of the button functions both on the first page and in the Dropbox.

This is the only entry I have in “DeviceSorting” under the User/Config folder in BMS:
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)”
