4.34 non-documented stuff

Just an idea - how about this thread to write up on things we noticed in the SIM but is not documented anywhere in any of the available manuals?
Eg. Chevron on the A-A FCR
But if anyone thinks it’s a bad idea then I’m ok to call it off.

Chaff & flare does not dispense once bingo.

Just for the records, a manual suite purpose is not to document bugs
So it is pretty normal that bugs will not be documentedIf you want to make a topic about undocumented feature, and include bugs in there, you will need to maintain this topic in time and update it when specific bugs are corrected
Since we all know this is not going to happen, I suggest you leave bugs out of the equation.True featuresnot documented might help me add them in the manual suite at a certain point, but stating bugs is completely counterproductive as far as a manuals (and this topic) are concerned

If you like that sort of work what I would suggest is start a Blog Post or Thread entitled “Kenguan’s Known Issues and Bugs” or the like and then have a link to it in your signature. I know I would visit that before reporting a bug or asking if someone was experiencing a problem I noticed, etc. Something like that needs one or two curators in my opinion though. Like Arty’s list. Otherwise, it is likely to get hijacked. :tjacked:

Sorry, did not mean to be a bug reporting. I thought maybe there were genuine items left out of the documents (unintentionally).
As an example regarding the chaff/flare not dispensing in the other thread, from the replies I thought it was genuine what was discussed there, and not a bug.
Pls correct me if I’m wrong. But if it is a bug, then I would greatly appreciate if what’s mentioned as “undocumented” here is given the label ‘bug’.
Also if this thread is counterproductive then my sincere apologies.

Right said that, dear Kenguan.
So, what about meeting Red Dog’s proposal? _@Red:

On my little own, in case (if, I mean) I’ve found something true the like out, I will post it… here?
Agreeded?With best regards.

Well I’ll offer something to consider for inclusion here.
Lasing Parameters for Laser Guided Munitions for Various Releases
I’ve been working on this for a couple of days now and I think I have an interim explanation about the problem and how to resolve it HERE but this is just my poking around on the issue. It should not be considered confirmed or good advice, etc. It’s just what I was running into and what I think may be a problem.

More info in this thread https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?34621-Chaff-flare-not-dispensing-once-bingoI think this is correct.

I’d really like to see more detailed descriptions of using ground forces and tactics related tactics. I’ve been able to puzzle out some of the waypoint commands like using Blackhawks and c130s to rapidly deploy troops over long distances, but it would be very helpful if we could get guidance here.
Thanks

I could not find in the manuals what the bank angle markers of the ADI and Backup ADI indicate. The ADI looks like 10,20,30 and 45 degrees (in both directions) while the Backup ADI looks like 10,20,30 and 60 degrees. Would be useful to have that info, cheers

check Nav and comms volume

Hm, various searches through the Comms and Nav book (which is an impressive piece of documentation), but I come up blank on what degrees the bank markers on the two ADI instruments indicate. Sorry for being dense, could you point me to it?
-
Only if I could remember it
I know I mentionned it somewhere but where?let me gather my memory

page 141

Hi Ironman, thanks. Is that a direct quote from the text? Could you please state which book you are seeing this in - it is not on p.141 in my BMS-Comms-Nav-book.pdf ….

OK, so this is my p.141. Sorry but I do not see the text you refer to, also the ADI is not described here:
-
sorry for the confusion - can you post a picture to show the back up ADI please and the tick marks, that may throw more light on the issue.

Sure, and thanks for taking an interest. Here are two pictures from the Dash-1, pages 44 and 47:
