SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS support thread

Hope you have a blast, Dee-Jay! Got the Buttkicker Gamer2 myself (as opposed to the seat pad style vibration), and without Andre’s software, it’s a poor excuse for a sound-to-vibration… but WITH the SimShaker Wings, you can feel every break in the taxiway, you no longer have to look to see if Airbrakes are on, you can just FEEL it! Crap, am I making the two month wait worse? haha! You’re gonna love that thing when it arrives!
p.s. I do VR racing, too, mostly at Road America (in Project Cars 2), and Andre’s SimShaker Wheels is just as good, just a little testimonial there … high quality work, worth every penny.

“Can’t” wait!

Received and installed!
Very good looking product.
Works with 4.34 … but I can’t manage to make it work on the Beta versions of 4.35/36. (!?) … I don’t know why? … maybe something about Windows registry or shared memory?
I don’t know how SimShakerWing is actually working behind the scene. For the moment, it is “only” a massage seat.… Here is how it is integrated in Aker Barnes cockpit:

Hi Badger! Thank you for input!
Working fine for me in all versions ….
I don’t remember making a changes or adjustments.set g_bExportRTTTextures 1 // This enables the shared texture memory area for HUD/MFDs/HMS/RWR/DED/PFL
set g_nRTTExportBatchSize 2 // This determines how often the shared texture memory area (if it is enabled) will be updated (every Nth frame, default/min is 2)… ?
Could you send me in PM the content of your 4.36 FalconBMS.cfg please?

Congrats Dee-Jay. You live 3 - 4 weeks or more in future :headb:

I think your only option for help from the community is sharing these “beta builds” you speak of here with us, the unwashed, non-beta masses
I hope the new builds work again with Linux? :)[1]
All the best & congrats on your new toy!
Uwe
1:I’d be happy to help with testing this!

No idea. I don’t think so (is Linux running DX11?)
…
My problem is solved. I was simply that I was running a Test EXE which do not includes the feature.
More feedback later. But now, SimShaker is full integrated to my cockpit:
… finally, I’ve put it under the seat cushion. It is transiting vibrations through the entire cockpit
-
Nice to hear you got it working Dee-Jay, I was not meaning to derail the thread of course. And yes, many DX11 titles work fine on WINE / Linux (BMS 4.33 used to work just fine, too).
Are you using the JetSeat underneath that seat or have you integrated it into the seat cushion itself? I have mine on top of my regular office chair in which I sometimes watch TV or use titles that don’t support the jetseat (Xplane 11 on Linux for instance), so from time to time I find sitting on the motors uncomfortable (I have a sheepskin on top of them) and just put an additional cushion underneath the sheepskin to “soften up” the seat a bit.
All the best,
Uwe

Glad you solved…
Just curious…how you made that arm holder?
Tomorrow i will share pictures of my solution, but i am always looking at ways to improve it -

Hi Andre!
Question (I wasn’t able to find any answer on your WebSite nor in the FAQ) … is it planed (if even possible) to make SimShaker (SimShaker Wings) compatible with FS2020 ?
Regards.

SimShaker stopped working recently, app loads but no output.
-
Bummer.
This was next on my “to buy” list.
But -->
-
Does it work with discrete BMS 4.37 inputs (rather than a simple generic massage effect)…?
-
Is it still available…?
-
Is it still supported…?

Out of the box…? Plug’n’play…?
I would say yes. You just have to tune your settings.
