Constant Crashes 4.35
-
I should add: if you have dmp files that have content you can upload those with dropbox or some equivalent sharing site and post a link to that. Usually when there’s a dmp file there’s a *crash.txt file as well that has a stack trace in it. If you have one of those then pasting the text in here for that file (and including it with your dmp file in a zip we can snag from remote) would be handy too.

This thing is like a lottery game. There is a chance that it freezes but you never know. Therfore it’s hard to provide a solid repo case.
What I can tell is that the Sim seems to keep running while the screen is frozen. At this point no further events show up in the mono logs (except if you tab out of BMS and back). When I start the same flight again there’s a good chance that everything runs without issues.Edit:
Since BMS does not crash, there are no crash logs available. Can you provide a mission file where it happened and which flight you took? Any additional info would help, too.

Possibly unrelated to the OP’s problem, but I have found the keystroke combination <alt+num enter=“”>which is by default assigned to SimRWRSetSearch, will cause a CTD every time on my system.
Specs i7-6700K, MSI GTX1080TI, 32 Gb 3200 DDR4, 860 Evo SSD, Win 10 Pro 20H2 build 19042.685</alt+num>

Hi all
I had a lot of random crashes and freezes in BMS 4.35, no matter what theater or mission, sometimes 5 minutes into the 3D, sometimes 15 minutes…
By chance, in the task manager I discovered a GPU usage of 99,8%, that it is very odd given my graphic card, so I followed a virtual squadron team mate advice an unclicked V-Sync and triple buffering in BMS graphic setup and now it runs like a charm
I hope it helps
Best regards

Good point! Triple buffering doesn’t work for every system.

I am not at pc rn but will try to share logs later but as others have said the sim continues to run while the image is frozen so may not register as a CTD. I have tried the initial HAVCAP flight in the first korea theatre campaign flying aa ROKAF F16 sqn if that helps narrow it down. Mostly hangs just after takeoff once climbing towards stpt 2. I have a 3700x rtx2070s and 32gb ram ddr4 so not a spec issue either. Will check nvidia settings and some different missions later.
May be mission specific as i can dogfight for a while before it hangs. Also need to remember to set the sim to borderless window mode as i cant alt tab without the game hanging but i dont think thats a new thing -
As suspected, no logs of any kind in the folders. All files are blank. Triple buffering and v sync both off too.
Bit of a weird one really
EDIT: gonna run as admin and disable fullscreen optimizing and see if this helps any. May be conflicting with opentrack on admin level…?

Hi
Yes, V-Sync makes BMS crash for me too. Same with 4.34. Must be something to do with my GPU. When I change to Fast or Adaptive mode from simple V-Sync, works well.

I have had a freeze on every flight so far and i also had vsync and triple buffering enabled. I will disable both and report back as well.

Hello,
The same issues I encounter after 4.35 installation. No VSync, and tripple buffering was enabled when the CTDs happened.
Here is the location containing package with two most recent crash reports including the dump files, and mission file where it happened. -
Still getting a game freeze even after disabling vsync and triple buffering. No logs as the game is not crashing. it just freezes the screen and only way to shut it down is through Task manager. If there was a log or something i could provide would be helpful. Also this happens on every mission i have tried.

Are you using an external mfd or enabled rtt export?
Cheers

yes, I use MFDE for gauges and RTT for MFDs. I guess i could try and disable those for testing as well.

Training missions.Hey boss, i feel your pain, i am m in the same boat, nothing i seem to do makes any difference

Ι had the same problem.
If you have copied your config files from 4.34 try to put the original config files from 4.35. That solved the problem for me. I am not sure what is the specific file that causes the crash. I will try and report back if I find something. -
seems that running in windowed mode has put a temporary stop to the crashing… don’t know why it won’t run in full mode?
-
Drivers?
-
I have updated my nvidia drivers as of yesterday. I run my game in window/borderless mode as well. I use a clean config in 4.35. I have removed RTT and had 1 successful flight as of now. Looks promising without RTT.

remove the RRT?

Some lock up and freezes are currently caused by RTT extraction being activated.
Please disable it while a new update will fix it…
