I tried to find that handy air brakes mod but in vain. Does anybody still have it to share or could point me to the download?
Thanks!

Hmmm. My 4.35 did not have brakwind.ogg. Copied it to \…Sounds\Common anyway. Didn’t work. 4.34 had the brakwind.ogg. But the 4.34 file ogg was different than what you provided in Dropbox. Tried the 4.34 ogg and it didn’t work in 4.35 either.

Maybe the typo changed I Don t remember. But anyway, this .off is nothing but a joke (but it works well if you want to know that airbakes adding ;))

It has changed to, Airbrakewind in the Common Folder

Using the file from the Dropbox and changing the name to airbrakewind didn’t make any difference in 4.35.

Just FYI, Dee-Jay– that file name was changed to airbrakewind.ogg for 4.35
-
I know since I made the name change …
But I didn’t remembered.

What are the new specification requirements for an ogg file? My older file which I renamed to airbrakewind.ogg doesn’t sound at all in 4.35. It worked ok in 4.34.
Thanks.

No changes except the fade in/out on extension / closing (The more they are out the more you hear, like physiological feedback).
Or … you still have the indicator of course to check.
you can also use one button to get them out, another to get them in so you are sure that they are closed after about 5s. -
if one increases just the sound FX slider to 75% …you will hear the “wind turbulences” of airbrakes out or not … good enough imo.

Even by using default value (for those using headset) … Using speakers gives a different result and could be less audible. Or not audible … In that case, tweak you FX slider as suggested by AS. Sound sliders are made on purpose.

I’ve used my airbrakes wav file for over 15 years since SP then in BMS. Any idea why this ogg (I converted it from wav) does work in v4.34 and does not sound in v4.35 at all? I could send it for your kind analysis it’s just 25kb in zip (and yes I renamed it to the new name)
Thank you.

I’ve just figured out how to fix it. A bit too convoluted even to explain… Anyway there were a couple of airbrakewind files with different extensions in my Sounds\Common\ folder. I gave *.mod extension to one of them and that was the problem. After I renamed *.mod to *.mod1 that fixed my problem. For what it matters VLC read *.mod as an audio file.
Cheers!
