Throttle, stand-alone
-
Any thoughts on such please? Or, is anyone selling one, like a Warthog throttle.
-
I’m using two - two Cougar TQS’s - one converted with a Bodnar board, and one with a TUSBA R2. In fact, I plan to rework my Bodnar one in the future to make it readily convertible. Both work great, the TUSBA R2 is easier to do…highly recommended.
…but I have a strong feeling that by the time I get around to installing things in a cockpit tub I’m going to investigate getting my hands onto one of these -

given that I have a real F-16 throttle arm assembly in my parts stash. I’m sure it will cost me $$$…

LMFAO…yeah no price list…If you have to ask the price…

Yeah, these are pro-guys…and I have a pretty good idea of what this stuff costs (I gave up trying to “save money” after I passed the $24K point on collecting pit parts - I got da sickness). I actually want a couple things from them - a throttle grip, and a HUD reflector glass. I have yet to contact them - I may end up retiring to someplace in their locality.
Forex, I happen to know these are on the order of about $3600 per unit - so $7200 for a full front seat HOTAS.

Mower, I don’t know what your price range is, but these guys ship to Canada. Their USD price for a Warthog Throttle is pretty good:

If you order now, it will be delivered by March 12th.

Price is actually pretty good there, I would have enough cash in a few weeks if all goes well…can anyone who has one already vouch for it?

I can’t vouch for the site personally, but I know guys at work have bought from them. They are really good and ship fast. If you can see it listed, it is in stock. As for the Warthog throttle itself, I just replaced my CH Gear with a used Warthog Throttle and Stick I purchased from the Buy/Sell listings here at BMS. I can say the throttle is a big step up from my Ch Prothrottle. Nice detents for afterburner and fuel cutoff. Adjustable tension on the throttle lever to keep from flopping around the handle. The on/off swicthes are nice and crisp. They feel like real Boeing flight deck switches. I would say, the throttle is the best for a mid tier price. You will find it an improvement over your Cougar TQS.

I have a Warthog throttle and my biggest complaint with it is that the throttle arms are not metal - they are plastic and have a tendency to feel as if they are warping away from each other over time. Too much space between the L and R grips; and using the lock-up function to turn it into a single engine throttle feels totally un-natural. The Cursor contoler could also be done better, though it is an improvement over the Cougar’s micro stick, and there are a few mods out there for it.

Although the price is good I worry about import fees that degenerate Canada customs may try and levy on it crossing the border.
