Thrustmaster T.16000M + TWCS Keyfile

Hey Orffen, nice job!
Now there’s even less reason to use the odd TARGET.
I’ll probably still use it to get two more buttons from the frontal rudder rocker in my setup.Joy2key… Excellent for this and very versatile. Ditch target completely.

Yeah, works! It’s Shareware though, not free.

I’ve been using it for a long time for free.
Funny you say that as I just donated to the developer last week!

PS: If i’m not mistaken, i noted a small mistake in labeling:
COMMS Left is actually IFF OUT and COMMS Right is IFF IN?Thanks for the kind words!
You’re right - I had those backwards. Have fixed in the zip file

My hopes are on you for a 4.35 compatible version

My hopes are on you for a 4.35 compatible version
Unfortunately, I’m out of my office at the moment until mid-January, so no HOTAS to be able to test this until then.
Edit 2: after writing the below realised that of course there are new key files for BMS 4.35; Zip has been updated!
Does the .key file not load in 4.35? The release notes and New Keyfile Functions.txt don’t show anything removed/changed that previously existed, so I think you should be able to load the .key file, setup your axes and get in the air
Edit: I just had a quick look at the technical manual and doesn’t look like anything has changed for the config file values for multiple devices either. Don’t forget to add those config file entries. Let me know if you’re seeing issues importing the .key file; I can re-do them off the base 4.35 .key files if needed.
-
Version 8 updates:
- Added Falcon BMS 4.35 .key files and moved BMS 4.34 to another folder in the zip file
- Don’t forget the config file changes for both 4.35 and 4.34.1+!
-
Version 9 updates:
- Updated keybindings for Falcon BMS 4.35.1

Just wanted to thank you Orffen for putting this together.
T.16000M Flight Pack just been delivered so will try the install/setup from your first post tonight. Can I still launch using the alternative launcher after using the keyfile/config changes from your post or do I need to go in using the original .exe?

I am new to BMS (few weeks) - what is the difference between the TRIM key file and the other one - is it just layout? No problem! The TRIM file is a different option. In that file, the top hat on the stick will trim the aircraft while if you use it while holding the PINKY SHIFT button it will be the TMS commands. I find I use TMS much more than trimming in the Viper so I prefer the other file. It’s all down to personal preference

Sorry Orffen - just seen your response to my original post before I edited it to change the question as you had answered the first one in an earlier response on this thread.
Its arrived so will have a go tonight. Thanks again - already seen I cant use the hat on the throttle without mods so looking forward to sorting that. -

You can’t use this keyfile with the alternative launcher, you should just launch using the regular launcher instead.

hi
Edit falcon bms.cfg and add the additional lines from my add to falcon bms.cfg file,
question 1
So that’s means add code “from my add to falcon bms.cfg file” at the end of bms.cfg?Copy the .key file to the same folder
Load the .key file in Falcon BMS under Setup -> Controllers
Jump into 3D to verify all bindings (the 2D interface doesn’t show any shifted bindings)question 2,
Orffen Basic T16000M+TWCS.key
Orffen Basic T16000M+TWCS TRIM.key
what’s the difference between these two files?
which one should I load?question 3,
Any config with T.Flight Rudder Pedals works? -

question 1

question 2,
Orffen Basic T16000M+TWCS.key
Orffen Basic T16000M+TWCS TRIM.key
what’s the difference between these two files?
which one should I load? The bindings use a shifted layer to allow us to map more buttons than we physically have on the HOTAS. The difference between these 2 files is which function is mapped to the unshifted joystick POV hat. The TRIM version has the top hat used for trim (rarely used in the Viper except for when your ordnance is unbalanced). The other version has the top hat used as TMS. In both version the alternate mapping is available in the shifted layer (hold the PINKY SWITCH DX SHIFT button and then use the hat).
You can use whichever you prefer - I find the TMS unshifted is more useful as I use it more often than trim.
@afk:
question 3,
Any config with T.Flight Rudder Pedals works?Yes! The rudder pedals are just axes, so you map them as you map your stick and throttle.

Version 10 updates:
- Added bindings for Toggle Pilot Model (B15) and Center View (shifted B11)
- Moved Visor to B14 and Night Vision to shifted layer B14

I’ve been wanting to get back into BMS but control inputs have been what is stopping me.
Does this profile still work correctly? Should I just be binding everything via AL? I hear it makes things as easy as DCS to bind these days, is that true?
-
@Easy301 AL is highly recommended. I use the TWCS throttle and the TitanWolf Vulture Stick. I never even tried to bind them through BMS setup. I used AL, just double click a function on AL click the relative button and Save. If you have your setup figured out it takes less than 5’.
-
@danaos75
May I ask what AL stands for? Sounds a bit like my old Joystick programming tool that was easy to use that way. I don’t find the TARGET software very intuitive -
-
@Scorpion82 what @logic said above. Not just a keybinding tool, but that is its main feature. Sorry for just using the abbreviation before.
