Welcome GKABS!
The actually 3DS Max exporter works up to 3DS MAX 2013
(even 3DS MAX 2014, but you have to copy the plugins manually to the correct folder)For modelling specs watch also:
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?7220-Modelling-Organisation… whereat the list of needed models is a little outdated.
For model structure, … you can name your nodes (objects in 3DS MAX) to whatever you want.
Cheers, :yo:

LSThank you, LS, Happy to be here.
I have the 3d max 2012 installed and I downloaded the 3DS Max exporter, but where do I install the 3DS Max exporter? do I install it anywhere and just copy the 3DS Max exporter to the plugins directly under max? sorry for asking the obvious questions.

I can’t remember if there was an installer within the Exporter for 2012, but yes copy those folder and files into your \3ds Max 2012
folder should work.

Unfortunately, that didn work. I copied all the files like the following:
to Autodesk\3ds Max 2012\plugins
Export Utility.dlu
Helpers.dlm
LODExporter.dle
OGLLOD.exeto Autodesk\3ds Max 2012
mfc71.dll
mfc71u.dll
msvcr71.dll -
For a 3ds max 2011 the folders and files are correct, but I’m not sure if the 3ds max 2012 folders are the same.
Do a test, … start your 3ds max 2012
Then “Create” > “Helpers” -> change “Standard” rollout to “Falcon Exporter”.
Does that work? If so pick “F4 DOF”, then click and drag in viewport.
Cheers, :yo:
