Low res clouds
-
Is it just me or does the low res clouds look better than the hi res clouds… I’ve been wondering a while why my clouds looked so “bad” compared to 4.34 and finally disabling Hi res clouds made it look better like it did in 4.34. The softer edges etc to me look way better (More like clouds) than the hi res clouds.

Certainly a matter of taste.
If you post screenshots it will be easier to compare.

I think the new clouds look great for cumulus humilis/mediocris but not for cumulus congestus and most stratus. I often wish the old, old clouds were still available for stratus. As far as I can tell @Dee-Jay there is no way to create hard IMC true overcast layers that are thousands of feet thick like you used to be able by growing the cloud layers back that started as ridiculously thin.

@dee-jay When I say bad I mean the resolution and detail of them look great in Hi Res but the hardness(Higher resolution so its prominent) of the edges make the billboard really stand out compared to the softness of the Low Res

@wurminatorza I kind of agree. I actually switch back and forth sometimes, just for some variety…

Wonder if anyone is looking at volumetric clouds for some future release. That would be something else

@jayb other priorities for now…

Sure, sure
