HAD improvements

Great that we now have the option to select priority targets on the HAD display but the new circles and longer dashed lines decrease the readability significantly. Especially with multiple radars and PPTs at the same location. You can step with TMS right to the next target but if you can’t read what that target is, it is not very usefull. I can really not imagine it is like this in real life but please correct me if I’m wrong.
I’d suggest the following improvements:
- No PPT’s visible on the HAD or at least the option to filter them out completely.
- Remove all dashed lines for emitters. Only data linked emitters should have a dash according to one of the MLU tapes (though this is with regards to the HSD and not HAD but I suppose it could be the same). In order to distinguish between PPT’s and emitters different colours could be used.
- Ability to filter on displayed emitters, similar as in HAS mode
- Ability to remove emitter symbols from the HAD
- Not related to the system but to the IADS modelling: more EMCON, e.g. not every SAM giving away its position so easily with its acquisition radar. Part of the idea behind an IADS is that not every single battalion needs to use its search radar even though it has one. Presently there’s some modeling with SAMs not emitting when there’s overlap with another one but could be improved a lot IMO.

If you don’t have docs or references to share (knowing we don’t only model MLU) then sorry but we can’t take “suggestions” on systems…

@MaxWaldorf
Then please state your docs or references for the current implementation -

The implementation is similar to real

@kyros LOL that doesn’t work like that…
You come with stuff you want to change, you bring the info on the table… We don’t model things out of the blue!
I don’t say our “interpretation” of the real is perfect but at least we have people within the team controlling those.

Perhaps you can ask your source(s) if any of my suggestions might be true.

Lol don’t worry, I’m sure our sources read the forum and will tell us if anything needs to be changed.

He is actually correct about the dashed line for the emitter part, they should only be there for the datalink emitters on the HAD. There should be a way to turn off the rings for the PPTs in the HAD CNTL PAGE 2, and the PPTs should be displayed with a carrot above them. However, this is fairly minor stuff that may not be worth the dev time if you have bigger fish to fry.

Yes I know that but low prio for now indeed
