Thrustmaster T.16000M + TWCS Keyfile
-
@Easy301 AL is highly recommended. I use the TWCS throttle and the TitanWolf Vulture Stick. I never even tried to bind them through BMS setup. I used AL, just double click a function on AL click the relative button and Save. If you have your setup figured out it takes less than 5’.

@danaos75
May I ask what AL stands for? Sounds a bit like my old Joystick programming tool that was easy to use that way. I don’t find the TARGET software very intuitive -
-
@Scorpion82 what @logic said above. Not just a keybinding tool, but that is its main feature. Sorry for just using the abbreviation before.

-
Sorry for the lateness in this one, I haven’t had any time for BMS lately
Version 11 updates:
- Merged BMS Basic 4.36 keyfile changes
-
@Orffen Thank you very much. I really appreciate the effort. Fly high, fly safe
-
Thank you, will give this a try.

This is excellent, just what I was looking for.

Thank you so much for still updating this!
Again as a tip for anyone where BMS doesn’t seem to load the file properly:
open the DeviceSorting.txt and make sure that the entry for the stick is on top of the list and above the throttle.Maybe you can include that in your instructions,
-
The keyfile seem to be not compatible with 4.37 - really hoping we can get this upgraded, it’s still the best configuration for this HOTAS
-
@CookieMonster there is new stuff added for 4.37 (VR and ECM stuff, some extr lighting) but no obvious breaking-changes, that I’ve seen.
what about the key file is broken for 4.37?
is the new Alt Launcher simply overwriting it?

It doesn’t seem take over the assignments for the Throttle Keys.
You can work around the new Alternative Launcher overwriting everything by just using the classic “Launcher.exe” instead.
-
@CookieMonster oh is it because AL is imposing
set g_nButtonsPerDevice 128
now?you can try put
set g_nButtonsPerDevice 32
in your user.cfg, to override the override, as it werealso do
set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude 256
if that’s what the key file needs -
@airtex2019 Brand new user here so be gentle.
I have attempted to install Orffen’s T1600 Key file to save time. I have version 4.37.
I chose his key file in the in-game controller page, however none of the key bindings work.
Airtex2019, could you explain where (what file) I would make your suggested changes? Is it the BMS Falcon User config file?
Anyone else know if Orffen’s key file works with 4.37?

@Tobruk np I love helping new pilots get up and running … don’t hesitate to ask if anything doesn’t make sense.
things are a bit of a mess right now, because BMS is undergoing a change from 2 decades where max number of buttons per device was 32… but now many high-end HOTAS devices have more. so the new max is 128 … but that is throwing off the numbering, for lots of community-authored key files.
and there’s no builtin easy-button to “migrate” an old key file from 4.35 or 4.36, to 4.37. anyway…
run Notepad.exe to open up your
\Falcon BMS 4.37\User\Config\Falcon BMS User.cfg
file, and add the following lines.set g_nButtonsPerDevice 32 set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude 256 set g_nNumOfPOVs 2 set g_nPOV1DeviceID 2 set g_nPOV1ID 0 set g_nPOV2DeviceID 3 set g_nPOV2ID 0
Also, open your
DeviceSorting.txt
file, in that same folder… ensure your stick is line #1 and your throttle is line #2. If you have other devices, they can some after…Now, you have a couple options – either avoid the New Launcher entirely (ie. use the old launcher at ‘\Falcon BMS 4.37\Launcher.exe’ , or just launch BMS yourself at ‘\Falcon BMS 4.37\Bin\x64\Falcon BMS.exe’).
Or continue to enjoy the shiny New Launcher, but you must always click the “launch without overrides” checkbox, before launching.

@airtex2019 . Thanks airtex, I think those lines worked.
I’m so new and not sure when something does appear to work as it should, if it is the game or the settings. For instance, I’m just trying to taxi to the run way and my wheel brake “k” does not appear to work even though it is mapped?? Also, does the ATC respond?? I request permission for taxi, take off and landing and get radio silence. So much to figure out.
-
@Tobruk yeah I hear you. it takes a while to figure out all settings … in addition to learning to fly the jet!
only reason [K] key wouldn’t work, that I can think of, is if you have toebrake bound to an axis.
look in Setup / Controllers / Advanced to verify all your axes
-
@airtex2019 You are THE MAN. Thank you.
I added
set g_nButtonsPerDevice 32
set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude 256to the Falcon BMS User.cfg (additionally to the stuff required but already written in the keyfile “readme” regarding POV), made sure that the Stick was on top in the DeviceSorting.text and started BMS using the “Legacy” Launcher and reloaded the Keyfile.
Seems that all keys were assigned properly.

Thanks, I was experiencing the same issue.
