Hotas cougar keymapping from 4.36 to 4.37
-
Hi to all and a happy new year 2023.
I want to ask. What files must I transfer from 4.36 to 4.37 in order not to lost may keymapping and avoid to configure my Hotas again from the beginning?
Kind Regards

Hi
you can use following Files (but dont use the new laucher in that case)DeviceSorting.txt
axismapping.datYour Keyfile from 4.36 will work but has to be enhanced with the new Callbacks:
New Key File Functions.txt (xx:\Falcon BMS 4.37\Docs\01 Input Devices)
NOTE:
The following code lines contain all new functions introduced in
the latest BMS version with default key assignments for the standard
key files (Full, Blank, Basic, Minimum).You can copy and paste them to your key file.
It is recommended to paste the lines to their desired category which
requires some work on your side.
However, pasting them at the end of the key file should work as well.#===================================================================================

@Rambo another suggestsion,
befor you do so, i recommend to backup your entire Config folder -
@Viper Dispite I added the bellow lines to my *.key file the buttons not have the commands . For example the dogfhight key do not do something.

- Don’t delete/change anything from your436 install.
- Create a backup of your BMS437/USER/CONFIG folder (i just .7z it).
- Check and compare your falcon bms.cfg settings for
set g_nButtonsPerDevice set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude
- Check and compare DeviceSorting.txt
- if all the same, then copy over your key file and test without Alternative Launcher
- If all good then add the new callbacks.
Like many issues its a process of elimination.
-
@Fish44 I have
set g_nButtonsPerDevice 128 // SETUP OVERRIDE
set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude 256 // SETUP OVERRIDEI must cjhange to ?
set g_nButtonsPerDevice 0 // SETUP OVERRIDE
set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude 0 // SETUP OVERRIDE -
@Rambo Check it in 436. if you can’t find them in 436 then try.
set g_nButtonsPerDevice 32 set g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude 256
-
@Fish44 Ok thanks I managed. After that i run directly from Launcher.exe Thanks a lot all of you.

@Viper Thanks for the useful advice!
