[4.37.0] VR monitor rendering on flat screen
-
Quest 2 / Steam VR. Is there a way to configure how the monitor is displayed? It takes both of my screens but I’d like it to use only my main screen. I hope there’s another way than tweaking display every time. Thanks!

@LorikEolmin you may be able to play around with lowering your SteamVR resolution and then turning up your setg_fVRResolution multiplier up to what it was before. I did notice once playing around with the settings this did keep the BMS window smaller, not sure about quality yet and large numbers seems to be problematic even though the math I believe is the same i.e. 20% SteamVR resolution with 5 as the multiplier to get back to the 100% number crashed when trying to enter a flight in BMS. But 50% and 2 worked.
But overall it would be nice that BMS has some kind of scaled down window view of VR instead of rendering oversized most monitors. But maybe that’s how BMS has to do it.

@LorikEolmin
try this:set g_bVRNoPresent 1 // this will not display the companion window in VR (only HMD will show image in 3d).

Totally disables VR monitoring.

that’s the only solution we have to offer…

Totally disabling VR monitor to have monitoring only on main screen. No, that’s a cat, to be French for a minute. There is no solution to offer for now. OK.

ough the math I believe is the same i.e. 20% SteamVR resolution with 5 as the multiplier to get back to the 100
I would just use the native SteamVR display window. Be sure to choose to show the right eye only in the top left of the window that opens. You can then capture that window within OBS or discord streaming

Very poor performances.

Correction: this is not related to 2 screens, it happens with one screen only. Only a portion of the whole render is displayed. Switching Fullscreen mode fixes that.

@LorikEolmin full screen mode as in alt-enter or BMS setup menu full screen?

@Snake122 BMS setup, Graphics.
