Pilot Disppeared again

Hi.
Pilot disapeared agian!!!
I did a re-install, and pilot was still gone. Then did another re-install and removed WDP, that got the pilot back… re-installed WDP pilot still there.
Planed a small mission, updated kneeboads, started the sim everything works. Had to abandon the sim, got back and got everything set up. Entered 3D and the pilot has gone awol again. Now on my 3ed re-install of the weekend.Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
I don’t get any fault messages in WDP when i update the kneeboards. Please help, it is driving me mad

StokesOdd, have 0 clue why WDP would have any effect… and you have the “Show Pilot” (or similar) checked in Settings and ALT-C + P does not make the body appear/disappear?
-
Hi @Icer
Yes. Pilot model set to show pilot and ALT-C + P does not work.
Everything worked fine until yesterday…

StokesIf you are using WDP to update your kneeboards, check that the generated files have not been corrupted. Take a look at the files, if they have a size of zero bytes then they are corrupt - I believe any corrupt kneeboard images will prevent the “pilot” from rendering.

Are you sure that he has not ejected…?
Check that the seat is not armed.

Maybe he just won’t show up for work. Are you providing adequate compensation and benefits without any overburdensome expectations?

Really, didn’t know that could happen. Death by kneeboard !

OP Stokes turns around and leaves…!
Has this resolved itself yet, Stokes…?

Hi.
Haven’t had time to test it. Rela life has hit me hard this week. I will try to test it this weekend.Br.

@stokes I’ve had the same issue. In fact, replacing any DDS file causes the corresponding 3D object to disappear. Putting back the original DDS file doesn’t solve the issue-- it stays gone, even if the file seems identical to the original.
I’ve ruled out Windows Security quarantining the file, as the whole folder has been whitelisted. Still not sure what’s going on there.
-
OK.
It all worked fine after a re-install and test with the kneeboard setup that I run. Then started the campaign again and gone was the pilot.I’ve reverted to my old solution with an Ipad, but this will properly not work if you are flying in VR.

That’s not how you make the pilot kneeboards appear.
Its ALT + C, RELEASE then press P.
I’ll take another wild guess and assume that the Alternative Launcher is overriding your pilot model settings in setup and not showing knee boards in the pit which is what I prefer.

@Kavelenko No, that’s not what’s happening. I have the same issue, and the AL is not changing that setting. And I’m quite sure I’m hitting the correct key combination for the kneeboards.
As posted above, this issue also causes any 3D object in BMS to disappear just by replacing the corresponding DDS file–even if it’s with a seemingly identical file to the original. I thought it must be some subtle issue with file attributes, permissions, or Windows quarantine, but haven’t been able to localize it.
Clearly this isn’t happening for everyone, but there are a number of people experiencing this problem. Very strange.

We are in the Caribbean, where the devil gave the 3 voices and no one listened to him, with low-performance PCs, flying falcons to the limit, but the lowest, and none of our pilots has lost their little feet. so he adjust his soldier rifle and check well.
