Nope, they’re yellow not green. In the pic above they get brightened a bit by the ingame shading/lighting engine. The color code I used is color-copied from RL-DED pictures. Just finding the right Hex-code combi for in ingame use was a bit of a
hassle. Personally, I find them very niceBut of course, if you’d fancy another color, that’s easily adjustable.

Guys I think you are talking about different things here. I think he is asking for the green colour on the MFD text, the one next to the bezel that says HSD, HAD, FCR, SMS etc.
If this is the case then I believe you can change it in the configuration menu ( the one not ingame).
If its not the case then sorry for interrupting!

I assume you mean the HUD-fonts?
It works as follows: the basic setup in BMS (inside the core code, C++, is set to green in hex-value - FF0000 I believe). The design of the wireframe of the canopy (2B seen through eg LOD-editor) is populated with pictures so to speak, the DDS-files as you probably know.
…As CT - stated in earlier posts, yes I’m still working on the canopy, but have major issues wih my design-computer. It’s crashed and I have a lot of repairing to do to get some of the hard work back I did on the BMS-topics. THis is also why there are no new releases on this topic. Until then, please enjoy the good efforts of CT to get a more vivid feel out of the canopy reflections (btw, CT: you could you a different filter for the last part (around the HUD itself) on the 8005 and release some more dark grey in the alpha channel to gain more transparancy. This would enhance your efforts significantly, you’ll see )

Hi FanOfBMS432, sorry, I stopped modding it (and have little to no clue about alpha channels, made all that in PSP6 as finetuned layers) and decided to wait for your version.
I also posted my gapa tool settings (2 of which I made for BMS) and trust me, with one of those you have a whole new feel of light and vision when inside or outside the pit. Unfortunately, BMS and fraps don’t work together as far as pics are concerned.Cheers my friend!

If I am not mistaken, PL_Harpoon is also to be credited because he (IIRC) or another modder made this 3993.dds (alternative):IIRC the others were by FanOFBMS432.

yes m8, but this one does not work well imho. Here the alpha channel does not cut-off the symbology well. But one needs to check of course
… just my recollection, as my PC broke down.

OK mate!
I only mentioned that one since I know a thatre dev who is interested in that file for a specific reason wanted it and I included it as alternative in the little mod. Personally I wait for your mod or maybe JanHas is able to give the canopy reflections the same life he gave in them FF. IMHO the FF 2D/3D pit canopy reflections were perfect, very true to videos I saw.
What I can say is after flying so long with modded HUDs and canopy reflections, the default BMS ones look naked to me.Cheers

Added a USAF Block 50/52 version. “F-16CJ USAF HUD version, brownish”
Only a raw link for transition times. Not 100% satisfied but it fits the Korean theatre stuff for me ok.
Difference:
Tad brownish and darker now.
Not straight purple as intended for Aegean / other Vipers.All in one…

Buddy, this one is by no means meant as final, only until you have something that fits, known issue that my edits of your work cannot keep up with smoothness and clarity.
Kudos whoever made the alternative background file, IIRC PL_Harpoon.T.
You can also use the other 3993.dds by FanOfBMS432, then it gets a tad more pink.

For the fun of it…real deal is less pronounced yet similar. Only made it for me and let my MP buddies test it ^, for this one I am not at all sad if someone says it sucks, for fun.

I think that the amount of just how much you can see the circle is different between models (and countries maybe). It may also change with lighting.
For exmaple in dee jay’s picture it’s very defined, and here’s another example where it can barely be seen: -

Also I believe if it’s a full circle or a cut one as the above pics depends on the viewing angle… if u see it wrong than the circle is cut… else it’s a full circle…

It’s never a full circle because the projector is not circular at one end. Can’t find a pic now.

That’s not the case m8. In my mod I investigated this precisely, as you can see throughout this thread. Mostly, pics and footage are taken from an angle in the pit where the collimater glass ‘cuts off’ the seen symbology. However, the glass itself is not. Ingame I tried to find the best match possible (3993.dds file, setup of the alpha channel to achieve this). When looking through the HUD from ‘your knees upwards’ you’d see the complete symbology. From a more upward position this can change/changes. Then you’d have the cut off look you are referring to.
FanIt’s never a full circle because the projector is not circular at one end. Can’t find a pic now.

BTW guys, the stuff I uploaded is only a variation of FanOfBMS432’s work.
YOu can pick his 3993.dds from it as well, as I inlcuded 3 different versions. And also 2 versions of the Aegean style pink 8005.dds and one for the USAF style.
Like I said…I’m not too satisfied, but as as stopgap it works for me.
Also I don’t mod stuff anymore since RL started biting and that’s my priority.
Fight is my thing now.:drink: :rofl:

Actually I don’t know if the glass or lens is completely round, the point is it is cut off by the ICP at the edge toward the pilot.

FanI’m not talking about the symbology, I’m talking about the green circle reflection. That projector is cut off at one end by the ICP so it does not appear as a circle. It can be clearly seen in this picture DeeJay posted, that no matter how low you sit you will never see a full green circle on the HUD (notice the top of the ICP in the reflection cutting off the projector):
