The file name should be “SSD_X.xml”.
Where the X is the number of the SSD.
Else BMS and the tools won’t work.Can’t see anything wrong in the code TBH
-
“ I’ve tried naming SSD_xxx.xml - so it’s not that … BMS/EDITOR works just fine with any filename as long ext/filetype is xml.”
You could see the data like this as you might have save the difference to the “normal” falcon_SSD.xml

@Falcas
Mother… - trucker
And I’ve been busting my head.
Yeah, yeah… been there … got the t-shirt.
Case closed.
-guess what … SSD_32.xml is working in MC… (previously I’ve tried SSD_32_Ka52 and that is nogo IN Mc… - in BMS/editor anything goes)So, yes… MC is kinda picky for the filename., like I said, BMS EDITOR dont care about filename as long as long ext is xml, and has xml struct inside.
Thank you for everything, including patience
Cheers …

The SSD is not for one specific aircraft.
If can be for only one, but it can also be used by multiple different AC.
So the name of the AC was never designed in the filename. Also the BMS code looks for SSD_X.xmlBut BMS code might be a bit more forgiving I assume.

I can understand that, who would have dozens of files named VCD_1 - VCD_xxx … complete mess for navigation only.
…but SSD’s , well … retained “original structure” -
Please, which last version works with AF? Or is the current version F4AF friendly please?
-
@Lukas
Hmm… I do have some old versions of MC … now , which one?But… what is the goal??
… you can “prepare” MC (setup.ini) to load Lead Pursuit/Battlefield Operations database , then just load cam/tac …
You can also … copy all F4AF files /Art /objects . .etc… but! RESPECTING Bms directory structure … MC don’t care which version of Falcon you load… just give him wanted files … of course some like stations+il.dat don’t exist …I’ve managed (just now) to open cam file from F4AF (just by editing MC’s setup.ini ) with current version of MC. - so … it can
work.[Main] FalconDir=d:\Lead Pursuit\Battlefield Operations FalconKey=1.0 Database=d:\Lead Pursuit\Battlefield Operations\terrdata\objects\

I want to build a TE, fly it, save the end results and then build a follow up TE after modifying it with MC. Problem is when loading saved TE in MC there are many, many errors listed.
Is this not possible to do or is there something I’m not doing correctly to accomplish my goal?

Please describe what you mean with “Error”.
I am pretty sure there is not a single error.What you probably mean is a message saying MC found use of double ID and fixed this. Which are not errors at all, but a simple notification. BMS does this, which is not nice, but MC fixes this automatically for you and notify you about it.
Nothing to worry about.
-
@Falcas No, it’s not that. I don’t have a pic to share right now but, from memory it’s about CT not found or indexes out of range. Then the map does not show all the units.
I’ll get a pic up here in a day or so…

Okay, interesting to see what it is.
Repro case (file) would also be nice -
-
You are using an old version of MC, did you try with the latest version?
-
-
@Falcas @white_fang
Same results with v751
TEs are built with latest BMS & Balkans theaterI’ve had others report same results to me.
-
Just wait a little until I am back home and I can take a better look at it
-
@Falcas no worries, thanks. Let me outline my procedure.
Create a TE to use in MP currently in Balkans theater
Fly the mission online with group
At conclusion, save the TE with a different name.
Load this new TE into MC
View errorsThe new TE will load into BMS just fine but not MC
ps Falcas many thanks for supporting your many tools over these many years.
-
Hmm. Right. Ok. Yes tricky that one. - one would presume something wrong with db…
But (luckily) after reading procedure steps , there should be nothing out of ordinary.
I can confirm that in SP saving mission state doesn’t have any erroneous CT(s).
.so this should exclude MC’s problem - or at least MC + SP … MP, well we’ll see- try it yourself , fly same TAC in SP , save state , try loading that new save in MC
Cheers
-
@white_fang I have done as suggested with the same results.
Here are my TE files 23A start and 23B save after mission in single player.

Besides the errors note the difference in ground units displayed on the map.

@Badger
Hi. Ok, dl-ed files… gave a quick look,Here’s what I saw in 5 mins , but… need to take a longer look.
DEFINITELY, even your Sortie23A is “porked” - error just becomes cumulative in “23B”.
BMS editor doesn’t show errors in 23B, as it just silents them.See diff with BMS and MC. - no armor around Montenegro in BMS editor. - in MC it shows. - so you need to repair “Sortie23A” first as subsequent saves just would be more bugged.
(error (bug?/glitch?) probably occurred even earlier - search 1st file when SA-4 “moved” over to Italy - that unit still thinks it is in Bosnia)MC spew error with “Unit11” - unit11 is actually “HQ brig” in “Istria/Croatia”, (unit11 in 23A… in 23B is actually 10, as DCA package - unit 2 - is gone)… but !! , MC sees unit 11(10) as “Air Assault brig”.
That SA-4 should be over “Jahorina” , but it is in Italy.
So, I’m pretty sure THIS has nothing with MC - but, wouldn’t just put my hand in fire - … this here, it is “school” example of BMS saves got porked … yeah, crap.
Good luck.
