Mission Commander beta release

@white_fang I have done as suggested with the same results.
Here are my TE files 23A start and 23B save after mission in single player.

Besides the errors note the difference in ground units displayed on the map.

@Badger
Hi. Ok, dl-ed files… gave a quick look,Here’s what I saw in 5 mins , but… need to take a longer look.
DEFINITELY, even your Sortie23A is “porked” - error just becomes cumulative in “23B”.
BMS editor doesn’t show errors in 23B, as it just silents them.See diff with BMS and MC. - no armor around Montenegro in BMS editor. - in MC it shows. - so you need to repair “Sortie23A” first as subsequent saves just would be more bugged.
(error (bug?/glitch?) probably occurred even earlier - search 1st file when SA-4 “moved” over to Italy - that unit still thinks it is in Bosnia)MC spew error with “Unit11” - unit11 is actually “HQ brig” in “Istria/Croatia”, (unit11 in 23A… in 23B is actually 10, as DCA package - unit 2 - is gone)… but !! , MC sees unit 11(10) as “Air Assault brig”.
That SA-4 should be over “Jahorina” , but it is in Italy.
So, I’m pretty sure THIS has nothing with MC - but, wouldn’t just put my hand in fire - … this here, it is “school” example of BMS saves got porked … yeah, crap.
Good luck.

Although intentions are good… it doesn’t really help to investigate like this. Errors you might see in MC can have many reason.
Chances are very high there is nothing wrong with your files and cause is with MC. Reading the files for a tool like MC is much more complex than you might think. This because MC needs to be compatible with all flavours of Falcon. And is also depending on different theater where the builders might or might not make mistakes.
Just be a bit patient until I have some time to look at it.
-
Yes, that’s true. But! , errors with his files (both!) are present even in BMS editor (Taceng). - just silently discarded.
Those armor battalions (sortie23A) seen by MC , are NOT seen even in BMS - there was data shift and unit data got damaged - not evident… but why? - good question.In last file (sortie23B) damage got even more cumulative leading to failure.
Like I said, error probably occurred (much?) earlier.
I was just pointing that is “Fat” chance that, that kind of error is caused by MC. (all tho, not entirely impossible)
Cheers

Ok, found the cause and its a pretty interesting one.
One of the battalions (759th Air Assault M-16) got 869 waypoints.
These waypoint are ALL at the same location, so something is not going as it should in the BMS code.MC reading code has a protection against possible badly saved mission files. Tries to read it anyway, but in this case it works against us.
What you need to do… well just have a little bit more patient and let me sort out MC.
Won’t take long. -
@Falcas super, standing by …

Falcas, that’s what was I talking about in prev post , maybe a bit messy, but that “Air Assault batt.” is actually “HQ batt” when editing “sortie23A” inside bms tac editor.
BMS sees “HQ batt” , but MC see “Air Assault batt”… ct is porked. - but still undetectable by MC at that pointEven that, how come manually controlled unit can get 800 waypoints ?
Probably @Badger moved it 1000 timesIt is probably better to have original , untouched unit-list , from even older save , then compare.

@white_fang
Long story short… nope, nothing is porked. -
New version available, latest is 0.5.28.752
Units
- Fixed, bad reading in case numWaypoints are insane high.

@Falcas
To your information:
I did not get this version to run on my computer with Windows 11 installed. I got a message that “LzssNative.dll” was missing, but it was not. I saw the same file in WDP so i tried this file, and then the MC worked as supposed.I am not sure, but i remember that this i have done before after an update of MC (1-2 years ago).

No issue at all here with Win11, starts right up…

Could someone confirm if this is reversed?
X,Y coordinates of the theater in the simulator with respect to MC
-
@VIPER-0
YES. It is reversed from long time ago, even for objectives, in database editor.
But, for what it takes, not a big deal. Just remember, ‘You have to think in Russian’ -

@white_fang Firefox reference?
-
@JUmpstart5179
Exactly. -
Don’t know if it is an already reported issue. Not a major point, but I just figured out that day numbers cannot go over 9 in tab Teams / Action during a Campaign
Days 10, 11, 12, … will all be shown as day 1.
btw MC is a great soft.
-
@CheckPoint It is just a visual thing. The value set itself actually is correct for >=10. So it still does work even if it looks strange.
Cheers Obi1

Actually BMS is reversed. This has been pushed many times already to change this in BMS.

Fixed in next update
