AAR Refuelling Duration.
-
@Apolo27 @drtbkj @Quasi_Stellar Thanks for your replies, as Apolo says my flight is an escort. We are on the tanker’s port side, waiting anxiously, watching our Bingo page show our tanks emptying.
The Bone doesn’t disconnect.
I am wondering, is there a difference between “Fuel” and “Refuel” in the action field for the waypoint? Could that be the cause?
Thanks again,
Bayonet.

“Fuel” should be the tankers action. Your flight and the AI “Refuel”. Usually the AI (all sorts of aircraft) takes fuel just fine with no issues, refueling until completely filled up. Perhaps the Bone’s fuel capacity is set so high that the tanker is unable to fulfill its fuel demand ?
-
Oooh, good point!
The fuel load is 195,000. The distance from take off to RV with the tanker is 360 miles.
Whereas the escort’s fuel is 12,194.
What do you think is an appropriate load?
Thank you.
Bayonet.

I couldn’t say, but as a test you could try setting it lower. Do note that you have to adjust the 195000 value, as well as the values of
They add up to 195000 and determine how large the various fuel reservoirs are. You could scale them back to what your new total is going to be.
I couldn’t make out how much fuel a tanker carries for refueling other flights, unless of course that is its “Internal Fuel” value. A KC-135R seems to have 203.000 pounds, which does not seem like a lot since a 4-ship of F-16s with bags would take 20% of that right away.
-
Probably that’s the most it can get off the ground with.
-
I thought a B-1 can offload an entire tanker. You will have to task more tankers to support the bombers.
-
@jayb 150,000 pounds is seems the typical maximum offload for a KC-135. But this is why in actual operations there are multiple tanker tracks and scheduled offload amounts. I believe everyone doesn’t just top off, you get the fuel you were assigned unless it’s an emergency. This kind of mission if everyone needed a top off, two tankers maybe required.
-
How much fuel can a tanker deliver IN BMS?
-
@LorikEolmin @jayb @Snake122 @Sarge55 @spectrclaw
Thank you all. So, a mission with
B1s is a far more involved scenario than one with only smaller fast jets.I don’t think (?) there is a way to create a BMS mission where two A.I. Bones can be directed to refuel from two tankers.
A second tanker will be useful for the escort, in this case.
Thanks again,
Bayonet.

I think Bombers should be put into individual flights, but they can be put into a single package.
