Dogfight module : AI aircraft speed

What about just to increase spawning speed to 450 - 500 knots or lets say M1 - M 1.1 for supersonic fighters if MRM checked…

ie. are they slow to throttle-up to full burner?
It seems to me that they never go full burner until a missile has locked them , so @Mav-jp the request is not to “to fake physics and give them more thrust than real or less drag than real” but to put in the plane more agressive pilots who could use the full burn before being defensive.
“So, would it be possible for IA accelerate faster in order to fire their first missile at a higher speed” means exactly this : Would it be possible to IA to use afterburner to shoot their missile with a speed more important than 0.4/0.6 Mach when there are in a face to face flght ?
@drtbkj, thank you for your advices.

@drtbkj Hi,
Thanks you for your answer. Yes, you are right and as you, i have tried also a lot of match play with different combinations, and i take a lot of pleasure fighting different opponents with different set up and as you i often challenge myself with some rules to enjoy the most my sessions :).
My point is only about BVR situation where the spawning speed is too low and makes the combat too easy. ( @Lukas , nice proposal )
But in effect, i agree with you, what is the correct spawn speed ?? 10 miles away for a furball can’t be the same speed than 60 miles away BVR, plus the aircraft model you put in front of you…
I understand @Mav-jp that there is no simple choice.
@Rouge1512 , i know you know

@ericfa2a Hi. For what you’re focusing on BVR, then I’d be interested in hearing the results increasing spawn distance

What waypoint type are they useing while in DF module - CAP, SWEEP or ESCORT?
Since Falcon 3.0 I usually changed they wpnts from ESCORT to CAP and even SWEEP (over target area) to be much mor agressive…also for SEAD, CAS or BOMB missions…it was frustrating to watch my hardly trained teammates burning in ESCORT mode (after 6 oclock heater impact from MiG21 or MirIII), while in CAP mode they still requested permission to attack. -

Why not taking falcon 3.0 as a reference

bug found and fixed
has been there since at least OF days

@Mav-jp Top ! Thank you very much.
Open falcon… the code legacy is trully old.
We can’t imagine the work that all of you have done and are doing.
Is there any realism patch code left ?

unfortunatly yes there is, but we cleaned a lot since

@Mav-jp
Wonderful!When I wrote that you are a genius with a strong personality! (I didn’t write with a bad temper, although I think it ).
Merci beaucoup.
But because we’re insatiable: no discovery as to the impossibility that seems to have appeared with version 4.37 of connecting to more than 4 pilots in matchplay? See : https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/25242/strange-and-abnormal-limitation-of-the-number-of-players-in-the-matchplay-module?_=1689839187648 ?
If my question/request seems ill-formed/imprecise or a source of irritation, you can go ahead with the stabbing - this morning I put my armor and wore my shield

Hi @drtbkj , what do you want to kwnow ? in TE for example, spawning an F16block 52 at A29 around 50 Nm permits it to reach Mach 1 , and loft at 0.9. The AIM 120C sustains more than 3,60 Mach at its higher speed so the missile stays dangerous for nearly 1mn.
In fact, i think there is an optimal spawn distance but i don’t go so deep in my tests.
The purpose is to understand how the aim120 reacts to different scenarios. -

Quite the opposite actually
If you spawn too far away the AI has no rwr nor radar contact and therefore flies in waypoint mode.
In this mode it uses the tanker approach speed routine

So scary in BVR !! but we can understand the logic in the code. If nothing threatens me, it’s tea time !️

I never have this problem in game, spawning at 40 miles as I had mentioned previously. In fact, if memory serves, it was the same at 60 miles. They spawn hot, I get an immediate RWR spike. and they engage when in range. Also, I tested yesterday and they do seem to be going faster at the merge. So, IMHO, Eric’s issue is that they just spawn at a lower speed. Player jet does , too. I don’t really consider it a bug, it’s just what BMS does. It may in fact be a good thing. In Furball, it may get a bit dicey if we spawn at “Mach 5 with our hair on fire” . So, Eric, just compensate in your desired BVR scenario. Hopefully that gives you what you want.
