Question on virpil encoder setup
-
Is it possible to map the CRS and HDG callback to the +/- 1 when spinning at a certain speed, then the +/- 5 when spinning the knob at a faster speed, for both of the throttle encoders with virpil software?
Also, can the buffer storage still work with the 5 degree increments, but not the 1 deg?
Trying to use the encoders with the default settings, and it takes -forever- to dial in a CRS or HDG, unless there is a better way…

check the technical manual for g_nKnobAccelerationDelta

@Skorp it works with keypresses, button presses, encoder wheels (which are just momentary dx-button presses as you turn the wheel)
it’s hard to hit keys/buttons manually, that quickly (I think the default is like 50ms).
but if you relax that, around 1/4 second, it works great.
set g_nKnobAccelerationDelta 250 //milliseconds delay between subsequent keypresses, to rotate knobs 5° instead of 1°

Thank you very much :))

Yup, works great as said by airtex2019, you may need to try different timings to get the desired results. Seems to differ based on the encoder.

Like @airtex2019 mentions, use the acceleration delta config option. You may have to test a few values to get it right.
One more thing which was not obvious to me (if you are aware of it, apologies) is that you only bind the 5 degree increments. That in combination with the acceleration delta, will allow you to slow-rotate for 1 dgr increments, and fast for 5:

Yes!
You are right.
Assigned to 5º and assign Delta to 150 (at this moment) and works perfect.
Thank you very much, guys!

Thx for info, that is exactly what I’m looking for. So skip virpil software and edit bms keyfile instead.
