@sasah320 unfortunately, no not as intended besides for the mouse clicks and if you have the V2 Aux buttons are handy as DX controls. It will take a different kind of mouse support or OpenXR support to use Fred’s MSFS solution.

@sasah320 Yes, I use it all the time but not as the intended purpose. Simply, they are additional buttons that I use to control my kneepad and other things.

Has there been any movement on full Point CTRL support? Should be getting mine soon and would love to use it in BMS!

@delenda no unfortunately. It will take either the OpenXR support and then workaround that people apparently use for MSFS or BMS to use mouse input differently. It really is too bad, I have it mounted to my Crystal and just printed off the new mount last night and played with it in DCS again to calibrate it and it really is such a great system! Makes any VR 3d cockpit into practically a home cockpit.
Yes, you can use the 4.37 U1+ cursor lock option and click the FCU buttons as you look directly at switches and if you have the Aux Buttons with DX support firmare, use them too. So it’s not completely worthless in BMS, but I don’t usually use the FCUs honestly. I love the Aux buttons though for the visor and NVGs!

I use all the buttons to map to certain things like showing/hiding/navigating through the kneeboard, zoom, etc.

@Snake122 Ah man that’s a shame - presumably there’s no way to take the movement from Point CTRL and simulate that movement using the Windows API, as if the mouse has been moved?

@delenda AFAIK PointCtl uses tablet API as an alternative for native support. I guess at some point it’ll be supported in BMS one way or another. But it’s gonna take some time.

@Xeno yeah, PointCTRL inputs like a tablet/touchscreen apparently. But my question is since BMS is largely a passion project group, is there a member that actually interested in adding the support? It’s not just time, it’s getting someones attention to do it or someone that is a coder and likes PointCTRL to join BMS. @chihirobelmo added VR support, not sure if he or someone else has any desire to add OpenXR because apparently @fredemmott has a workaround that could work then (plus add other advantages like maybe some general performance improvement, DFR for Crystal users, etc.) But I so miss using PointCTRL, it is such an elegant solution to VR cockpit usage.

Don’t worry @Snake122 . I’m building a replica cockpit for use in VR and I’m building physical panels with switches/knobs/dials/buttons since PointCTRL doesn’t work with BMS. I forecast that 4-6 months after I complete my cockpit, it will turn out someone was working on PointCTRL + BMS in the first place and PointCTRL will then be working 100% in BMS… just the universe’s way of giving me the middle finger.

@Atlas yeah I know what you mean buddy! But it also shows a lot of what you think of PointCTRL, as I do too. It’s so close to the physical cockpit experience that works across multiple cockpit layouts that it really killed my cockpit building drive while I was able to use it. Still though, as mostly reformed cockpit builder, there is something satisfying to building stuff. Flipping the real switch is still slightly more satisfying than the PointCTRL, just lots more expensive and more time involved.

@Snake122 If PointCTRL was working, my plan was just to put surfaces at the right places so I can physically place my finger while using the FCUs to activate the relevant control.

I come from using 2x touchscreens and Helios. Getting an ICP showed me how much easier it was with correct controls plus the physical/tactile feedback was just so much more satisfying. BMS going to VR was the last straw and I just had to build a “correct” cockpit.
