1980s Theater

Sorry, Molni, but my logic is really clear. I though I had stated it clearly above: Don´t add stuff that is not real! No exceptions, be AIM-7s be flares, be range of weapons, etc.
-
Small clip from the event this weekend.
-
Was fun fly? As I see the MiG defeated with flares an AIM-9M. Did you use data link during the flight?
-
i saw new feature for left MFD … cool!!!

Just note to “realism” and end user upgrades.
Some Czechoslovak people army Mig-21 (MF,MA had original possibility to carry it) were able to carry SM pod - Jammer SPS-141E + ASO-21-E7P launcher (chaffs and flares). Usually only one AC in 4-ship flight carried pod on centerline HP. Alert planes were almost allways equiped with its nattive 80ths weapon - R13M. Some of Czech Mig-21s were able to carry R-60 for selfdefence (CSSR AF had no BIS variant).During 90ths the R-60 missile was most usual beside Aim-9M on CZAF Mig-21MF. But it is another story…
I write it just because first line countries will allways adapt for possible threats. Serbs did mount their R-60s on trucks etc.
Czechs tested Aphids on L-39 trainers during cold war as well…It is not so big problem to put something on Mig-23.
Just for curiosity - this link shows chaff/flare additional adaptation for helis:
http://forum.valka.cz/viewtopic.php/t/11352
With such a solution you can put it on anything slow (but there is some optional aerodynamic stuff as well). Of course jet application need more clever approach…
Luk
Edit: i wrote Czech people army …of course it was Czechoslovak peoples army - oops -

My mistake i thought was butty DL target lock line…

Yes we did use datalink, is it supposed to be disabled?
It’s been quite fun, we have been playing at least 1 flight, up to 3, every weekend. You can see some aars here:

I think yes, in 1991 Link 16 was not available for most of or any jet as I know. Biggest problem that BMS4 code - as I know - make possible to set up a FDL connect with any AC regardless in RL other AC never had this link. For ex. you can create link between F-16C Blk. 52 and an F-4DSK or F-5E or F-15A/C. Until ODS only about two dozen F-15C got FDL terminals.
(Or not? I have never read any manul which meantion any restriction concerning on BMS4.)

From a little dogfight yesterday:
-
@qt:
both stores data and .cam file.
old habits Molnyman;)
maybe you can call it Molnyfalcon BMS.:munch:
so here is B block 15, loaded with Aim-7s.
QT
Please email those files for me, I NEED AIM-7s, c/d blocks too

Krause, did you finished the campaign?
-
What about flying with full release?

Campaigns with Block 15 ADF are available as well as pre HARM era, the 1982 campaign.
-
Hey bud just saw your bump. We’ll be flying this next week. I have been very busy recently because starting a business

NEW VIDEO!
World War 3 - HUD Optional
This is a proper British mission in Tornados. Flying through an amazing gauntlet of Russian air defenses to attack an mi-24 base! This campaign rocks - mainly due to the fact that everything is much deadlier (more Russian-er) than the stock theater.
-
Because in RL only Block 15 ADF variant could use which are US based units and never left US for any conflict. They never stationed outside from US as I know and even they do it was a uique event. (Similar to the case when some Su-15 (!) stationed in Egypt.)
It’s worth noting that during the time frame being discussed there were no real reasons for them to be stationed overseas nor any escalating events that would have necessitated a move.
You’re simulating a fictional war, there is no telling where those units would be assigned or what they would be doing if that occurred because a peace time eighties real life comparison to a war-time eighties simulated environment is not an apples to apples comparison.

Homeland defence is a role for fighter. Because both of F-102 and F-106 became extinct in late '80s…. Smilar case of MiG-31, they never left USSR and likely they never would do. BTW if we are speaking fictional scenaro pls. allow me what I set and what not in my theater…

What you hit you and cause the loss of HUD was very likely the ZSU-23-4. So small qty. of small MG at such a high speed literally is now not a threat. If you set well the RWR you can see on the RWR radar guided AAAs. This video shows that campaign works in some areas as I planned.
- Su-17s engaged you even they are strike fighters, they can change their target priorities.
- Are difference between MGs and radar guided AAA.
- Were many MANPAD launches but even Igla (SA-16) is not a holy weapon.
What I expected
-The SA-11 was moving therefore even used its radar was not able perform a launch. (The RN mention this modeling issue.) Likely it relocated itself to a better position according to ground war. I can’t wait more videos.Ps. It was strange that you did not selected the classical Clod War era new skin in weapon selection.

I didn’t know about the skin selection! Will do that for next time

Only drop tanks of Tornados needs new skin and separated models as F-15A/B/C/D and E have now.
