Good Day, All. The Dev’s kindly replied… This thread will be moving, and pinned, in Community Mods and Tools.
Other then that, same Bat Time, same Bat Channel -
One more update for today…
We’ve made a Tac Pak for OFM-Balkans.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/yib0i6iya98y83m/OFM-Balkans+1.8.2+Tac+Pak.7z/file
Brother Jackal has refined the stock TE’s, plus there’s a "bonus addition of the SA-10 Strike TE.
Also, we got a request from our resident Italian Stallion to refine the Sigonella and Brindisi Airbases and Sigonella NAS.
The installation instructions are in the included Readme. -

Please stand and hold still all, Gentlemen.
“Another mates” have released their major update and all things from the past aren’t compatible any longer, as seems… long awaited U3, welcome!
Ah, how competition with other fellows might make you pushWith best regards to all.

Good Day, All
is exciting. Not only for the Eagle itself. Having a ramp start capable twin engine jet with independent engine starting in BMS is hopefully translatable to our jets. Hopefully, it just new callbacks
I just wanted to let everyone know we’ve started investigating converting our stuff for U3 .Also, this -
@drtbkj any chance to see what this means for OFM?
4.37.3 Changelog:
"Systems (Other Planes):- Tornado Basic HUD implementation
- F-18C FCR Basic implementation
- F-18C SMS initial implementation
- F-18C HSD initial implementation
- F-18C HUD NAV initial implementation
- F-18C scan range adapted
- F-18C PRF mode changes bar scan bar elevation
- F-4E A/A Radar Initial Implementation"
-
OFM folks, this F15 is not a F16 under a new cover. It is a really new implementation (yes there are still some F16 bits there). The door is being opened for new stuff, as you can see with some of the changes. You are not alone

Hi, Seifer. Of course, but still you guys did a great job. I see LOTS of potential.

Try to guess “how many issues” coming out one by one instead, Fra’.
It’s a “three-headed mice” experiment this one too, I’m afraid - and I’m really hoping I will be wrong, but I have strange bad feelings on it.
Let’s see what happens this time, who knows? With best regards.

Seifer, you got that right! As I was looking at the Eagle, I found it strange. There’s now other avionics in BMS! It’s a definite mind-set change.
Snake, I’ve only briefly flown the Hornet in U3, but I am noticing changes. For one thing, the MFD pages are very Hornet-esque. Exciting, indeed. Is there any info on what theses changes are/do? I don’t see anything in Docs.
All, we have taken a preliminary look at converting the OFM theaters to U3. The good news we’re pretty sure we can do so. At the moment we know what to do, and are researching the best way to go about it.
As a workaround of sorts, as soon as I get a moment I’ll post a way to keep an active U2 and U3. -

Good Day, All. Here are a few updates…
- First, the Theater conversion process is on going. Cougar in the Balkans Team sent us some stuff that will be very helpful. It’s times like this that I appreciate the community we have in BMS
- Meanwhile, there are a couple of immediate issues.
a) Some of us had trouble with throttles in twin engine jets. They were stuck at idle in 3D. The workaround to get them working is to add set g_bUseXInput 0 to x/4.37.3/user/Config/Falcon BMS.cfg.
b) Also, I am told that some of the MFD pages in the new Hornets are still WIP and don’t do certain things, yet . There is a workaround that reverts to the old avionics
Add to BMS.cfg as above
set g_bEnableWIPF18Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPF4Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPTornadoAvionics 0
And you can change the zero to 1 to “reactivate” the new avionics - While we convert the U2 OFM Theaters, we wanted a way to keep you flying, albeit in U2.There is a way to have a working U2 and a U3, if you haven’t upgraded yet. If any of you are interested, let me know here and I’ll post it. It’s not a complicated process.
I want to add that we consider Items 2-3 above to be workarounds only. We are extremely grateful to the BMS Devs for what they have given us in U3. Other Jets’ avionics has been the dream for a very long time. Personally, I’ll be focusing on U3 with the Hornet av’s enabled, even if at the moment I “only” fly KTO and Balkans

@drtbkj shouldn’t it be added in Falcon BMS user.cfg instead of Falcon BMS.cfg?

@drtbkj shouldn’t it be added in Falcon BMS user.cfg instead of Falcon BMS.cfg?
Hi, Ferde. My understanding has been that anything placed in user.cfg will “override” the regular. And, the advantage of user is that a bms.cfg can and often is changed, but your values in user stay the same. If that’s not the case, somebody please let me know.
All that aside, you are correct, user is probably better. I was just trying to get us in the air so I suggested using BMS.cfg as I knew that worked. -
@drtbkj You are right, user.cfg overrides the normal .cfg without altering it and is recommended by the team to use it. That’s why I mentioned it.
If somebody is going to change something in the main.cfg, please, do a backup first. -
Good Day, All
We made good progress with our theater U3 conversion today. I’m told the painful part is converting the database itself, which is good news as we only have to do it once. Then, putting the new Theaters back out should be fairly quick.
Question: Any requests for Theaters you want done first?
Also, once I get my HOTAS working(thanks to Airtex) my pet project is going to be to explore the U3 Hornet. We know it’s a work in progress, but we are understandably curious about where it stands right now. And, personally, I want to fly it!
Over in the “The New Hornet” thread we were discussing the Hornet and a tiag made a good point. The U3 work was done on the F-18C. So, the D-G have not been touched. In testing we’ve seen the C has the takeoff trim and other previous hotspots, the others do not. For now you can go to x/4.37.3/data/art/CkptArt/F-18C and copy/paste the 3dbuttons.dat file to the F-18E type folder, after backing up the original. For Balkans go to x/4.37.3/data/Add-On Balkans/art/CkptArt/F-18C That will give you back the hotspots.
In the OFM U2 database we had added a few more EWS hotspots. When I get my HOTAS working I’ll test to see if it’s ok in U3 -
@drtbkj I have a simpel request regarding Theater :

Good Day, All. Yesterday we completed the database conversion, so Theaters will coming out soon.
