Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37

@linknet
Apparently, the problem was that Windows 11, by default, seems to block downloaded files.
Once I checked “unblock” for the “UnblockFiles.exe”, everything worked perfectly!
Thanks! -
@Dan
Yes, I know.That’s why the Setup Guide includes this:

Hi Linknet, thx for the update, all the previous positions mismatch has been fixed. I’ve just finished a few flights and I think there is one more glitch about the fuel gauge. It’s very easy to notice on the new IFF intercept TE, right from the start of the mission, the two F/R needles mismatch with each other. In 3D it’s about 2/3, while in Helios it’s to the full limit.

When you say that the two needles mismatch with each other I’m not quite sure how to interpret that. The F/R and A/L needles aren’t supposed to match each other only to show the front and rear fuel quantities which aren’t necessarily the same.
Or are you saying that the F/R needle in the Sim doesn’t match the F/R needle in Helios. Easy way to check if the needles are correct is to open the CPD Panel and select the Fuel page. The position of the needles should compare with the readings for AL and FR which are read directly from shared memory.

@linknet
Check this up, I took a picture at the start of the TE. I didn’t check the digital readout in the CFD though. I’m indeed talking about the 2 F/R needles, one from the cockpit and another in Helios. -
@jacqueslees
Which TE is this exactly? -
@linknet This is the new IFF intercept TE, right from the start.

Sorry but I need the full TE Number and description. I haven’t looked at the TEs for a very long time so have no idea which are new.
-
@linknet The TE is MISSION 17B: IFF - Intercept (TR_BMS_17B_IFF_Intercept)
Images taken from in the TE and latest Helios BMS profile
The first image is the fuel gauge in 3D along with what is in sharedmemory. Note the aft and fwd fuel numbers.
The Helios gauge in the profile is reading correctly. It’s maxed at 42, which makes sense as the shared memory value for fwd is 51018.35 -
@Wheelchock
Thanks for that, saved me having a look.So according to the provided values the Helios gauge is correct and, for some reason, either the gauge in 3D is wrong or the shared memory values provided by the TE are wrong.

Hi @linknet
I have some weird behaviour that is unexplainable for me. During the last few weeks something has gone wrong with my profile when using the Communications Buttons. I am not sure if related to the latest u3 update so I waited till the latest update to see, but the issue persists after profile upgrade.Here is what happens:
When I press Wingman … LineUp - Single Ship, it actually says Fence In.
When I press Fence In, it actually says Go Wedge.
When I Press Go Wedge, it actually says Close-Up Formation
When I Press Close Up, it actually does Resume Mission
When I Press Rejoin. it actually does Rejoin.It is a similar situation for Element and Flight commands.
I wondered if it was a problem with the location of buttons, but ATC Comms is working fine for all options.
Any help would be great, thanks.

@daz
I haven’t seen any notifications about changes to the ATC Comms menus but the latest BMS COMMS & NAV BOOK shows that they’ve sneaked in an additional “Combat Management 4” menu to the Wingman, Element and Flight sections which explains the weird behaviour. When I get some time I’ll see about adding those. -
Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated to 4.37-07
Updated 11 December 2023:
The first post has been updated with the latest version.
Please note the requirement for BMS Falcon 4.37 U3 and Helios Version 1.6.6040.3 or later.
Important: After installation run C:\Bin\UnblockFiles.exe to unblock all files.- Updated for BMS Falcon 4.37 U3 and compatible with Helios version 1.6.6040.3 or later. Note: Not compatible with earlier Helios versions.
- Updated the Comms Menu with latest ATC changes.
- Requires “set g_bExportRTTTextures 1” to be added to the “Falcon BMS User.cfg” file found in \User\Config.
- Requires “set g_nKnobAccelerationDelta 0” to be added to the “Falcon BMS User.cfg” file found in \User\Config.
-
@linknet ok, sounds likely to be that. Thanks.

@linknet
First of all, thank you for this fantastic work.
Unfortunately I have had a problem since version 4.37-06.
In the ECM panel, buttons 1 to 5 are shown as always pressed and I get no visual feedback on the status of the frequency bands or the BIT. It makes no difference whether
RAMP START or HOT START.The callbacks work perfectly, everything is fine in the 3D pit.
Many thanks for your support.
P.S. I hope I didn’t miss the solution in this thread.

After an initial investigation the ECM information is still available in BMSFlightData but for some reason it’s missing in Helios. The profile hasn’t changed in this area so perhaps it’s a change in Helios.
Edit: The ECM Panel works fine in Helios Version 1.6.6020.0 but not in the latest version.
Edit: The fix for this will be in the next Helios release.

I have also seen the fwd and rear needles between the 3d gauge and halos extracted guage display show some discrepancy helios reading a bit higher

If you’re concerned about that then the way to check it out is to compare the shared memory readings with the 3D gauge and the Helios gauge as shown in the previous post by @Wheelchock on the 7th December 2023.
I think you’ll find that the discrepancy lies in the 3D gauge and not in the Helios gauge.

Anyone here run Helios in the DCS F-16C_50 module also? I have the MFD’s working perfectly but gauges are all dead. I watched a (2 year old, and on the F-18) YT video on setting up bindings for each gauge, followed it the best I could, and they are still all non-functional. If anyone could give me some hints or point me in the right direction it would be great. I have attached a screenshot of my settings for the AoA gauge, biggest question is what to do with the “Properties” window that populates when you click on the Binding action line, if anything. The video does not touch it…
Funny that for BMS I just drop the gauges in place, no Bindings involved, and they just WORK!

@Icer yeah I’ve tried recently and it seems the F-16 driver isn’t working for DCS.
