@Mikyjax said in Jammer questions [Can't lock a jamming aircraft until 10 NM]:
@Mav-jp Hello! Thanks for looking into this. I have no idea about previous version as I don’t remember, I just discovered it in this version.
The question is not related to previous version to me, it’s just:Is it normal for you that I can’t lock a jamming contact until 10 NM when I am in this precise configuration :
- Head-on
- Same altitute
- I have no Jammer
- Contact is in XMT 3 Pgm 4 Music on
- Tested in PVP as I can’t guarantee those parameters VS AI
If you’re answer is yes, don’t waste your time but please tell me, so we can adapt our tactics
If it’s no, then there is a bug because I tested this a lot of time and it’s 100%.Thanks again for your time
are you testing in DGF Module or TE ?
-
@Mav-jp TE just to be sure

have you tested in DGF module ?
-
@Mav-jp No, I thought that would have been Irrelevant.
I can later today if that helps. -

Yes for me.
vs f16 Block 50 same résults.
9-10 nm ecm off vs ecm on.
Thank you.
what do you mean ? you tested in DGF Module ? and same results than in TE ?

@ericfa2a said in Jammer questions [Can't lock a jamming aircraft until 10 NM]:
@Mav-jp Yes in Dogfight module Korea. And so same result than @Mikyjax in TE.
okay understodd
Has someone a 4.36 installed somwhere ?
-
@Mav-jp
Yes here -
@Mav-jp Can you confirm there is or isn’t a limitation on ECM power based on the number of ACTIVE or TRANSMITTING programs implemented in the current version? I believe Micro said recently that it’s not implemented.

It’s implemented but stand by we have a much bigger problem

Was this behavior spotted in 4.37.0 or 4.37.1?
-
@Mav-jp I have a lot of difficulty to lock since 4.37, and I loose the lock a lot since too. And most of the time you can see the AI turning to pump or crank and their nose point cross my nose and bam, lost lock.
We tried it in pvp yesterday and the “point nose to enemy WHILE you don’t lock him” breaks his lock most of the time if you are music on. That’s either a fun exploit or a new tactic…
-
@Mav-jp Correction, I don’t want to misguided you in your research, this is too vague for me, I can’t be precise with version number. Disregard last post.
-
ECM bug found
Exists since 4.37.3
sorry for the trouble
-
@Mav-jp thanks for your time Mav!

Okay so now i can answer your question
this IS implemented :
For aircrafts with ASPI (F16 HAF)
1 program Transmiting = Full Power
2 program Transmiting = 88% * Full Power
3 and Above program Transmitting = 75% * Full PowerFor other aircrafts
1 program Transmiting = Full Power
2 program Transmiting = 75% * Full Power
3 and Above program Transmitting = 50% * Full Power -
Given the subject, we might as well keep on dancing…Is there a difference between ALQ-131 & ALQ-184?
A long time ago, I thought I understood what differentiated the 2 pods, apart from drag factor and weight, were the angles of coverage, is it still true? I didn’t see any information in the doc…

For now there are no differences between pods because it is not setup in the DB (it could )
All ecm have same strenght per défaut : normalized to 1.0

Does your above comment refers to internal logic, that the pilot is not aware of (does not know how many programs are operating at any given time, ergo unaware of the % of power limitation)?
