Saitek X-52PRO Profile UPDATED 3-30-12
-
Hard Deck I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have X52 PRO and loaded your profile and key file (downloaded from your link). First I went in and assigned TMS and DMS but could not find CMS on your stick or throttle diagram. I then assigned the joystick axes and radar knobs. Next I went in the game (I am a total newbie) and tried things out. Well the joystick works as does the radar knobs. Not sure I know enough to test TMS or DMS (DMS changes the MFD’s) but when I went to test the Fire button I got nothing. Same went for Chaff as well as all of the Toggle switches. It seems like many of the “No Key Assigned” do not have the joystick buttons assigned either. It also looks like you can’t see what button is assigned for a function. I goofed around a bit and assigned the toggles and they seem to work now. What could I be doing wrong? The problem is I don’t know enough about the Falcon functions to know what else doesn’t work and not being able to see if a button is really assigned to those “No Key Assigned” I really can’t tell what is or what isn’t. Should these “No Key Assigned” that are suppose to be assigned joystick buttons. Off the top the only thing I can think of is that my X52 Pro is showing up as Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller (2). Could that be causing these issues? Any help would be appreciated. As a retired IT Professional I think I should be able to handle something that seems simple.

Well I went back to an image of my hard drive and started from scratch… loading the Saitek drivers and software. I then reinstalled Falcon BMS and put your profile and key file on. I am having much better luck this time as the controller is showing up like it should. I go into the Instant Flight and now I can see the Chaff, Exterior Lighting toggles are all working. I still don’t see the guns yet but maybe I have to do something to get them to work… I said I was a newbie to BMS. Not sure I see the Mode switch doing what I think it should… but it is getting late so I will look into that tomorrow.

probably a no-brainer, but is your jet armed?

Don’t forget the chaff/flare and the mfd setup for al mastermodes (nav, à-à, à-g, mrm, dgf) need to be set by you in The datacartridge. By default you won’t get much!
If you don’t understand what this all means, I suggestie you look at soms of The video tutorials of Tanit. -
Thanks for your replies
Well I am using tanit’s Data Cartridge from his Youtube video
and like I said I have chaff working. I could not get the guns to fire until I went and bound "Second Trigger Detent " to “Wpn-Fire Gun” and the guns work now. I still don’t know enough to fire a missile but I do know I have some because I checked and I can also see them from an external view.Is there anywhere to see what joystick buttons are assigned to which keybinds? If not I would think that would be a future quirk fix.

Not sure how ‘new’ you are but here are some newbie situations that might resolve your issue: to be able to fire a missile, you need to be in either A-A, or one of the 2 override modes (Dogfight or MRM) for starters. Next, be sure to check of your Master Arms switch is set to armed and not safe or sim. Also, except when in ‘bore’ mode, you need a lock on an object before you can fire. Lastly, if you try to fire AMRAAMs, you need to hold the pickle button for about 2 seconds because your flight computer needs to send data to the missile before it can launch.

Well I just now had found the Dogfight override switch and the missiles fired off… so on to the next step. Thanks

You can see the button assignments in a few ways … in the Falcon controller setup, they should appear when you hit the button (if they are defined to Falcon). If you view the .key file (BMS-HD.key) in notepad, they are listed at the bottom of the file.
They look something like this:
SimWheelBrakes 0 8 -2 0 0x0 0
SimPickle 1 8 -2 0 0x0 0
SimCATSwitch 2 8 -2 0 0x0 0
SimPinkySwitch 3 8 -2 0 0x0 0
SimDropChaff 4 8 -2 0 0x0 0
…
The first number is the button #To file a missile, you need several things: Master arm on, be in DGFT, MSL, or A-A radar mode, and a target locked (otherwise you’ll get a mad-dog). Missile release (pickle) will fire quickly if a heat is selected, it requires a long press to fire a RADAR.

Anyone know what the “range knob” is supposed to do …. doesn’t do anything on mine.
Cheers

Hi OverDill,
See below links. One of those should help you. Don’t forget to upload your profile for community when you are done.https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?8996-x52-pro-template-pdf&highlight=X52+Pro+template

Maybe this is helping others: When you have more than 1 joystick connected, this profile will not function. I had this problem when connected a Logitech G13 and my new X52 pro. All the mapped buttons are wrong. When I disconnect the other joystick its ok. I am not sure if I can overide this problem, but I think it has something to do when Hard Deck has programmed this without another joystick connected.

My X52 pro seems to “jitter” a radar cursor down occasionally … anyone else notice that, or is my H/W flaky?

That problem has to do with the device ID and the way the BMS handles the DirectX keybinds. There are posts that tell you how to change the key file with the new device ID (as it got shifted with the added joystick. You can get lucky and have some added after the one your using for BMS. Kinda of a bit of luck I suppose. So its not that the joystick doesn’t work but rather that the keybind file needs to be changed.

Lost my ps2 cable that connects the stick and throttle together, so waited for new one to arrive. Just got it, so diving in to BMS. First issue is the profile, so thank you for this.
