The appetite for an F117?

@okayasugf 250k for external and cockpit combined? or 250k for the external and another 250k for the cockpit?

But I-Hawk mentioned that after U4 this can be higher. -
guys with the new bml format and pbr things are not like the old days where after decades things were mature enough to say in numbers the tris limitations per model category.
The general rule is to use the minimum u can. Don’t just add tris for the fun of it or because you want crazy details like you will see an antenna from 5cm away.
So keep it sane.
Now guys that don’t actually know or are newbs or need a guideline then use the old one and when you reach it start to be very conservative when you pass it in order not to skyrocket it.
For guys that want to get crazy in details I would suggest to use the High to Low poly workflow.
U use the low poly for the Falcon gfx engine and the High poly to bake the basic mesh maps when you start to PBR the Low poly model.
This way you can give super details to your model BUT it has logical limitations… for example with this workflow you can’t make it look like there is an antenna that sticks out of the fuselage for 20cm. -
@Arty good reply and of course I will use the minimum tris I can and be sensible. High-low process is my plan as well.
-
@SOBO-87 cockpit is a separate model, it can be as much as you need(in sensible terms)
-
That is prety good my dear sir.Do you need the F117 pilot handbook?Hope can help you sir

I’ve been fortunate enough to chat to a couple of F-117 pilots and pick their brains about the jet as well.
Dude…?
Lucky man…! A couple of anecdotes would be cool…!

@SOBO-87 - I’m pretty much suggesting that most of what is out there to find isn’t valid…including a lot of what you conjecture. But that if you know something about airplanes, you can make some fair guesses…but they are still guesses.

@Aragorn - The unfortunate thing is that my friend died…this is about the best summary of his life I can offer -

Wyatt was one of “my guys”, the one responsible for me getting to actually fly a Super Hornet…he was a great guy, a great pilot, and a great friend. Those of us that knew him are convinced that the Covid vaccine killed him - his aorta burst while he was dancing with his wife. Had something similar happen to another of my friends - and he was only 43.
At his memorial there was a fly past of four Super Hornets, with an F-117 in trail. And I’m still wondering how that was made to happen on a two week notice.

So?
Public sims are bound by what’s publicly available.
If your position is that I shouldn’t even attempt it because it wont be 100% accurate to info we don’t even have access to yet, then I’m afraid we aren’t ever going to agree on that.
I’ll make it as good as I can now, if in 10 years time more info comes to light, it can get updated. Until then it’ll be what it is.

Man, I’m very sorry about your friend!
I hope lot of people learned lessons from the happenings of 2020-2022. One of those lesson is that if you search for a real enemy, then you do not look behind flags of other nations, but behind the logos of giant companies! -
Don’t let you discourage, I’ll never understand why there is such hostility and opposition towards “other aircraft”. No public sim is 100% accurate and if people don’t like to fly this or that aircraft, because it’s not “100%” accurate, nobody forces them to do so. We wouldn’t have seen many, if any sims, if people had always been so picky. The worst is that most of these people have not even a real connection to military avaiation and could often enough not even tell what’s realistic, or accurate, yet they play the smart butts and discourage people. It’s really a pity and PITA.

@SOBO-87 - I’m not really trying to say anything more than “good luck widdat”.
