New base from Thrustmaster?

New base from TM is on its way it seems. Assume it will work with Hornet, Viper/Hog sticks. Reveal on Discord this Wednesday. https://www.thrustmaster.com/discord-reveal
Price looks to be €259 including German VAT on this site:

…looks interesting enough.

Interesting indeed. If this does not have the flat plate effect on the center of the stick I might get one of these as an upgrade from my OG base right now.

springs again?
and only with springs?
looks like mostly for non F-16 sticks. -
@Arty - I don’t mind the springs…means I have more ability to custom adjust the stick forces, especially for use with a center stick like for a Hornet. And I do like the fact that the spring ends are more durably mounted.

I am wondering if they will have a set of cams/springs etc that will simulate a FSSB sidestick i.e. only 1/4 inch of stick movement to full travel signal. The video alludes to more configurable things to come…

YEs but I don’t think there will be a gear ratio modifier for this. I think there will be only more variety from CAMs and springs and that’s it. -
@repvez
If so, and if it feels good and controls well, I could get on board. I HATE changing bases from VFS WE to old Cougar to play non-Falcon BMS Sims, so I just don’t. I like the idea of being able to do the Virpil Warbrd type thing if the New AVA base can have a “FSSB-like” feel but be easily changed for other sims, at half the price of a new FSSB R3, which are currently unavailable right now anyways.
A plus is that it will work with TARGET software (I assume) which I need and use for my TM ViperTQS anyways, so that’s a bonus.

I think they are too late to this party. This would’ve been a good alternative to Winwing and Virpil years ago.

The price is similar to comparing for the another company. But I feel like TM made some copy from another version. I can’t see any innovation in it which we can’t see it before.
-
@repvez I agree. I can’t see a reason to buy this base. I plan to save up for the FSSB R3 lighting Mk2. If this was a competitive force mod at a cheaper price, than thrustmaster would be on to something.

I have a Warthog stick and went through the whole disassembly, sanding and regrease. My stick is smooth now but had clunky micro-movements around center before I did the whole procedure, making it difficult to AAR properly.
I can see why they want to move away from the old tech which is subpar for the price point. If I could sell my old base I could be tempted, but it would have to be able to be as rigid/resistant as the old Warthog base
