3D Cities for Falcon…

Mother of god!!!"!!! This trees made more beatiful the terrain, with the “autogen” the whole theater will be really great
THIS point is imho really important!
When BMS came out there was a “how to convert your theater to the new BMS”.pdf that was pretty handy for the first edit and about this autogen there were 2-3 pretty screenshots (saying that trees and bushes will came as a shader and will be applied over tiles like the sea effect).
My question is wouldn’t be nice to know if this will come out and when? not talking about date but in term of releases! like is something that you will get for 4.32.x or 4.33?
Because it would be so stupid to “waste” time in something already achived or that will be added soon! (imho).Please some of you devs give a hint :mrgreen:

is it possible to have trees in a row, in cross they follow the streets and I’d like to see grass not too high just to fill the airbases

Yes we had… but now things are different. Also the approach is different.
IIRC even without trees in OF high end computers where strangling to give decent FPS. -

It was just a screen shot to demonstrate that 3D Cities for Falcon would look awesome that’s a coastline view thru Tel Aviv and I’m heading in land and I captured whatever BLDG’s that were behind.
Its a good theater, try it!
Still hoping we can have 3D Cities in the Future with New Ground Structure Content but not for now, BMS F4 Sim would need…… “New Terrain Engine” and more Core Code rework
ie. CPU Quad Core Optimization, increase memory bandwidth usage and also to get rid of all the limitations and make it easier for theater developers modelers to create add-on’s, but even then who knows what Devs are cooking up for 2013…stay tuned!

But on the other hand dont hold your breath thou because it really would require years of further development…unclear the situation really is because the campaign mesh and bubble issue etc, so we wait and see in anticipation, we all want modern 3D terrain and new ground structures spread thru many theaters…

My hope was to create some kind of add-on to coastlines and airbases for now but as you can see in thread not easy, so we wait the 3-4 Falcon weeks as they say……LoL
Consider that BMS F4 is on DirectX 9.0C platform it has much more possibilities now to look impressive here is a video and pics with DirectX 9.0c…

So you can see that it would look awesome a new Falcon 4.0…. I truly hope that this would be the case for F4 future.
Also check out the photo-realistic ground textures for F4 now add Cities, ground structures, roads, power lines etc etc …
Enjoy Israel Theater thou, start your flight around 6.00am you see the terrain change nicely along the coastline with night lights, the Sunrise etc, etc….

The extremely detailed 2d cities are a bigger gpu hog than 3d cities in other flight sims I own. I would love to see those tiles wiped away and replaced with actual buildings.

Btw. I tried osm2xp which works great for xplane such tool is great for building cities with minimum effort.

It imports openstreetmaps into sims like FSX and Xplane… Have a look at the site www.osm2xp.com. It actually looks pretty cool. Though I doubt the current Falcon terrain code would support such a plug in
