Eeh, I do not know, I haven’t found that instruction. Is it possible to obtain instructions from the first post? Just from which step to do differently?
Yup !! that would be cool !! some of us are not LE experts !!

Could anyone help us “LE illiterates” with the black nose and wings for D-52??
I tried to find out how to replace the texures numbers given by cougar on post #24, but I can´t find any of those numbers?
Can anyone at least point us to a LE turorial where it is explaind how to do it?
I have been trying to replace those textures with LE but it is very frustrating.
Thanks in advance

In the end I could solve the black viper, but using the LOD of Block 40 as stated in #13. It is not the “fetén” solution ;), but it will do until the proper one is posted.
This way puts the wings and nose of a D40 on a D52. I did not know how to use the proper 52 wings and nose and replace the textures instead.
Give me a ring if you need help.

Ok, thanks Chipi. I’ll try that first

Be aware that you will have a 52-D with the nose and wings of a 40-D. i.e. you will not be able to se the IFF interrogator antennas on the nose of the aircraft.

I’ve corrected D52 tex numbers and put a link on 1st post

Thanks for your time and effort!

I do not remember the key combination but I manage to get this screenshot
Can we see the correct nose shape finally?
-
How did u make the cockpit look like that ?
-
s, which used to be steerpoint-next in keystrokes.key

Use one from defult available keyboard setting and press h or ctrl+h, as I can remember.

I would love to have this nose available and see it while I lean out forward.
I think It should be visible from point like here:Great feature for videos footage.

Moved a few nodes 5deg and bingo, needs testing but could be a simple solution for this, took 5 mins to do.

RPG - I have been trying to do that for a long time. Please explain how you did that? Nice job!

My guess is the neutral position of the head (coordinates) …but would be cool to know, indeed.

So after spending 3 long frustrating hours teaching myself how to use the Edit Model screen in LE (in figuring out what does what), I finally figured it out, and it does only take 5mins to do. You can do it in less by rotating, but there appear to be some big consequences of doing it, so I wouldn’t recommend others (like me who aren’t familiar with nodes/DOFs/switches) try it unless they know what they’re doing :D. Not to mention things said by MavJP earlier in this thread.
But, the test did show me one thing.
With the update made so the nose can be seen if you sit higher than normal, you still cannot see it sitting in the normal position. For example, this is the view I get when I center my track IR (keep in mind I already made the 5 degree change to the model so I can see the nose):
This is what I see in the same pit when I sit up high in my desk chair:
Block 25 - no IFF antennas
And since the model is already there in default BMS, seeing it doesn’t impact FPS. Personally I like it a lot more because it doesn’t feel like I’m flying a dashboard, and even though I don’t see it in normal flight, I like knowing it’s there when I lean up and forward. Plus it will look cool for screenshots and videos lol. The other cool part was that different blocks have different noses (some have the bird slicers/IFF antennas and others don’t).
Anyhow, I will wait and see if the people who know what they’re doing with LE can do it without screwing up other things fingers crossed. You can see the parent for the model by going into the 3dckpit file for that block and get the parent # next to this: cockpitwingsmodel

Hi Demo.
Long time no see. Hope you’re fine.
I think your solution is quite well. For me it would be rather disturbing if you could see the nose during normal flight. But the option to have it when needed is quite sexy. Even if that means you have to perform some unusual contortions. Good job -
No I didn’t move head central position because that seems to screw things up, if you do that then you need to move ejector racks etc as well, right clart on……so I just block select front parts of lod and did a slight 5 degree rotate on the Y-axis to move nose into view, I’ve looked all around the pit using Track IR, leaned right out the sides any everything and I can’t see any graphic anomalies, if I find one I’ll scrap it…but looks good to me so far.
