Amazing work men!!! This is great!!!

Hi Nove
You are making very good work, but the problem is the polycount for this objects. Did you make some flight for test FPS at high and low altitude?

Hi Danguard,
What makes you think that those objects are hi poly count ? To me they look like very simple elementary primitives (and thats what they called ) and the appearance of complexity are in the textures.
I guess, let the author comment on that though.
EDIT: actually the polycount is shown - 300 plus , thats like nothing. -
I bet you loose @ max 5 fps
thanks nove!

hi Danguard and Polak
yes ! I make some flight for test FPS every time i add one more object to see how much frame i miss
i share my objects to see if on others machine theres some fps death
on my “work” i try to take the policount as low as possible
stadium and airlines planes have something like 4000&6000
the church are around 400-500 poly(all objects in a feature)
before adding all new objects i had 70-40fps … after 60-25if you need some object , let me know
regards

I say it’s time to go ahead and put a reasonable number of 3D objects on the ground and let the final user decide if the FPS drop is acceptable. It’s 2013, the sim should aim at having playable FPS on new systems, and just have an option to install the “autogen” or not. BTW, I think 30-40 FPS is enough for most people, 60 is overkill and means there’s room to add content to the sim.
My 2 cents

I agree, but FPS concern is NOT the main , or the only, reason why the 3D objects are so scarce in Falcon. It is good excuse though.
-
yeah I know there’s the problem of objectives, destroyable objects end paths for ground units. I believe this has been debated quite extensively in the “3D cities for falcon” thread, for buildings I think it’s generally accepted that having non destroyable blocks of civilian buildings would not be a deal breaker for most people. Something is better than nothing
