OF mods: JanHas, realism patch?

Hi!
First of all, my apology to keep you asking and taking your invaluable time in your F-16 skins.
I just applied your LVN_CJ52_v1 into my BMS falcon and realized wing tip pylon skin’s strange on F-16 CC tailed.
I marked the wing tip pylon as red. Please let me know what I did wrong.
I applied Set3 to Set6. -
You did not apply my skins to the new model, the bms standard skins won’t work with the new models. A lot of texture is not on the bms textures.
About the F-16AM DK, I will fix that problem.

Set 1 and 2 have the same body skins, you can replace the textures with the USAF/RoKAF skins. Don’t forget to change the tail of set 2 too.
The problem is that the 52 has six sets of skins, two or three is more than enough.

But… I prefer US and South Korea F-16s for Korea campaigns.Easy way to fix that is to edit the camo.cfg file in your Campaign/Save folder. In LOD Editor’s texture viewer check the skin slot number (1-6) of the skin you want assigned to a squadron (111st for ROKAF at Kunsan in Rolling Fire). In the camo.cfg file it will have a list of all squadrons with a number 0-5 associated with them. That number is the skin slot number from LOD Editor minus one. So slot 6 in LOD Editor would be #5 in the camo.cfg file. Find ‘111’ and replace the number next to it with the one you need. I think mine is 5 (6th slot) for ROKAF. I don’t recall the other ROKAF squadrons off-hand but they should be easy to find.

In a previous thread I asked about the LAU-129 rails that JanHas made for Open Falcon, but I figure it would be best to ask JanHas himself and the participants of this thread. Does anybody have the LAU-129 models that were included in the old “ALW” pack for Open Falcon? I am aware that Skywabie included a new model for the F-16 that includes this updated rail for stations 1 and 9, but i’m looking for the station 2,3,7,8 rails as seen here:

Thank you for this huge work ! Is it possible to have a “clean” tail skin for F-16CJ block 50 package v6? I mean without squadron names on it, thanks again !

I’m currently adding some new parts I had laying on the shelf, a better tail too. I’m now retrofitting the rest of the LVN’s. RNLAF/RNoAF LVN’s are converted too. I will release the block 50 psd’s after the latest update. It will be the last update/fixes of the LVN. Those pigs have enough lipstick…

Jan, I tried to install your wall mod. Regardless I set for the first two walls 15 for deagg distance and 0 (!) for bubble after the update and recheck the deagg value is 0 bubble is 304000. Is this normal?

I have never edited deagg. and bubble before, so I can’t tell you for now. Just leave them the way they were. If someone knows how those two values work post it please…

I found them in your screenshots about data setting for parents. Should I leave the default all of LODs regardless what I can see on data screenshots?

Jan, what is your experience with FPS in case if you use both your wall and tree models? On my rig in an empty TE the FPS sometimes go below 30 where in stock DB the FPS is about 50-55.

In similar conditions for me fps drop is around 5 when viewing the trees very close, so this is for lod1. From normal distances >lod1 there is 2-3 fps drop max. Are you sure you have the correct lod distances set?
It might be your vga/drivers, but try to test by increasing and playing with these lod distances.

Or maybe I my skills are bad configure my graphics settings. I’m asking not because mayself, but If I integrate everything into my MOD and FPS will be bad, the mod becames unusable. I integrated so far some of the normal res walls.
The trees cause me 20-25 FPS decrease from 70-75 in Kunsan to about 50.

A dirty solution to people who have a mid-/low spec pc, install only the Tree LOD2 and 3. Instead of three LOD’s you give it two. Use distance for LOD2 and 3 too.
Kunsan is always a trouble spot. I have a good pc and even with stock models I have a fps drop not seen on any other bases.
One important thing about my models. I build my models with the intention that they are good for at least 10 years. The models might by a bit heavy for the current average CPU/GPU but in time with new hardware this problem will disappear. The upgrade of hardware is going a lot faster then building and skinning all those models again. I will try to optimize the models as much as possible but I can’t do miracles. When Falcon 4 was released I, and a lot of people, could not play with high settings. That issue became mood in time. This might sound a bit harsh; if you want BMS with all it best looking mods be prepared to make the CPU/GPU investments. If you are not prepared to do that and still expect to have all the best stuff without a fps hit… well, you should take a closer look at your logic. The new F-16D with the new pylons, fuel tanks, bombs and missiles will be a lot heavier for the computer (6 standard BMS F-16’s = 1 F-16D). If you want to fly it you might need to add a better CPU/GPU to your Christmas shopping list…

I do not use your F-16 LODs. The havey FPS drop was also experienced above a general type of airbase. I will test the LOD2/3 tree usage.
