F-15 Eagle
-
It is a pleasure to fly the eagle in combat. It handles itself pretty well against every possible enemy. I have used the E model with its long legs against almost every long range target in my present campaign and except getting myself shot down a few times by SAMs and AA-10 missiles.
One slight graphic problem with the eagle is the rear view. It seems that you can look back and see through the skin. It would actually be pretty cool if the pilots could actually do that.
Thanks BMS Team.

Get’s downed every time by my Viper in dogfight.

…he needs to learn to shoot you farther out.

Since we have the same “swords” (Amraam’s), if we play the arena the proper way, it will again going to be a close fight.
-
I noticed the F15E does not have an RWR in KTO campaigns anyway making hard to know what the hell is going on

How can it be? The same DB and dat files are used. These determine the availability os RWR. -

I’m pretty sure it does, you just have to select it to one of the MFD’s
-
that is correct, you have to make it one of the MFD’s selections.

You don’t have the same radar…therefore you really don’t have the same “swords”. If the Eagle were to use Eagle tactics…

This likely depends on radar type etc blah…… but typically the longer detection range of the F-15 radar should be offset somewhat by the smaller RCS of the F-16. Then when it comes to parting with missiles you may want to do this in a range where said missile has a chance of making it to the target, and this is often well under max detection range of both. Then if you consider how long it takes to get upto speed and some F-16s actually accelerate better than F-15C (depending on XYZ) there isn’t always a big kinematic advantage to either as well.

All well and true, but there is also such a thing as “firing for effect”. Tactic being that if you get into a dogfight in the first place, you’ve made a mistake…the OP’s scenario not withstanding; he’s likely set up a close in, forced fight to get a dogfight going. But again, knowing the bit I do know about the RL Eagle, I doubt that the Viper has any “advantage” wrt an F-15’s radar (based on the size of the two antennas alone - the Eagle’s is a bit more than twice as big, I think…if not thrice)…particularly if it’s carrying any load. As for shooting first - yeah, the Eagle has the advantage. The Eagle also has the advantage of being able to set the terms of the engagement - mainly, to drive the fight to where the Eagle is at advantage and the Viper is at disadvantage - because he gets the first look. I’d wager the Viper turns better…so personally, I’d try to rob him of his turn advantage. And count on two engines out performing one in a sustained turn…but really, the object isn’t to let it get to that point.

Both can use tactics, the F-16 especially in BMS doesn’t need to get close in at all and as I said the smaller RCS should matter in this regard and should help a bit with jamming. Being able to fire the same type of missile slightly earlier and way outside NEZ also doesn’t mean much if the other side are flying properly.
There are quite a few different types of radar in use and no doubt an AESA type could change things significantly…not that anyone can give anything but speculation on that.
Having more engines has nothing whatsoever to do regarding being able to sustain a better turn.
-
interesting I will check it out so in r/l the rwr in F15E is only viewable in MFD?

You’re just gonna have to take it on faith that APG-63…er…trumps…APG-68. And that the bigger -63 is a mitigating factor.
Edit: excuse me, APG-70…on a REALLY good day.

Based on this info, it is correct - there is no RWR ADI in the F-15E cockpit - it must be displayed on an MFD:
