Mission Commander beta release

That did it. Kind of. From the main campaign screen the 36th FS has disappeared. It’s still there along with the A-10s and U-2s, but if I wanted to join it I would have to do so from the OOB.
-
I’ve been itching to try the Iris-T :twisted:
-
I love the norwegian paint job !! looks so clean, very clean, i like the way they wash their jet, looks so immaculate.
-
Although easy to add, at this moment it is not a function in MC.
I just wonder why you would need that?
If you need change it you will be doing this when you create a mission in BMS itself. There you can change the action as you like.Gr Falcas
Hi, and thank for your attention. I think it’s faster and easy to modify this values in the Flight Unit window, because I have all STPTs insight in one fell swoop. So I can check the entire flight progress.
And also would be nice to be able to change the altitudes of the STPTs.
Regards

Just found a very minor issue in MC 0.3.9.5. Marked the bug in red on following picture. In-game, the time is correctly set to 06:56:00.

Hey Falcas,
would it be possible to post the formulas you use to convert Falcon X/Y coordinates (both the km-based format and the foot-based format) into the BMS decimal degree format and back? It is quite evident that one “short” X or Y unit (km) equals 3280 “long” units (ft) regardless of latitude and longitude, but I have not been able to figure out how the BMS decimal degree coordinates tie into this.
Cheers.

Hi,
It has been some time ago that MissionCommander got a released update.
But that does not mean that work has stopped, even better a lot has been done.
One thing I like to point out what will be very useful for everybody.Did you ever wonder why you see a specific skin of the F-16 when you add a squadron to a TE? Why does the ROK Squadron in the campaigns do have the correct skin?
Can’t we set the skin we want if I create a TE for an online game?
Yes, that is all possible. The default skin that will be used by a squadron depends on the name of the squadron.
However, this also depends on the CAMO.cfg file and even some F-16 squadron names are hardcoded in the Falcon code.To see and change the default skin, select the squadron you want to change.
In the “Default Skin” box you can see what skin is currently the default skin.By using the “View Skin” button you will get a new screen where you can see this default screen and have a look at all the skins this model has.
Clicking on one of the pictures will enlarge the picture.
Merry Christmas,
Falcas

Hi Alfagolf,
Thanks for the report, but I can’t do anything with it.
The only thing you are saying is that you get a error.
There is no magic in the error report that tells a coder what to do.- What theater are you using.
- Did you mod your install that has anything to do with this.
- What do you do to get this error. (can you reproduce it)
- Send me the mission where you get this error with.
Any other usefull information is welcome

Sorry, I’m not a coder, anyway:
- Korea std theater
- Fresh U7 install with all JanHas mods (e.g. Launch Vipers)
- To reproduce the error simply load the attached mission (it’s only an easy training mission with several flights)
I don’use MC very often, thanks anyway for your efforts and especially for WDP, great software!
Merry Xmas to everybody

Sorry if already answered - can you change the heading of a ground unit in MC? Thx

Depends on what you mean. There is a value “heading” for each battalion, but this one is disabled (for now) as this doesn’t do much for ground units.

MC and WDP is really something awesome, i can’t stop being amazed by those tools you made Falcas. Really a good job.

I’ve searched a long time to answer a simple question but have not found the answer. Can you set munitions supply to zero for certain munitions for a squadron in a TE?
-
Text Strings
- Added, Option to edit the Objective strings.
I’m not sure that the process I am using is correct. I open either a savex.cam or te_new.tac. Click the Text Strings tab, then click add. I get the dialog and type the desired string, and hit apply. I scroll to the bottom of the list and see this, instead of my string. Is there another process i need to use? In previous versions, i was able to add the name of a objective by simply typing into the drop-down for the objective properties, now its saying i must add it through the Text Strings tab. So i am stuck here. I am not getting any errors, and no indications that anything is going wrong except for the blank entry at the bottom of the list. Additionally i have tried multiple strings such as test, or test string, or other combinations of spaces and no spaces. Thanks in advance!
**Additionally as a follow up, I also tried doing the same thing with a fresh install of BMS without our custom theater, and had the same results.
-
use tac edit to rename objectives. in case u do u loose mp compatibility.
-
I used tac edit as my workaround, however i just wanted to report it. But, since I create the custom theaters for the 1st VFW, I can rest assured that my MP compatibility will be intact. I do appreciate the advice though!

Hi Falcas,
I met some problem using the MC to edit Balkan 3.0 theater campaign save files. Clean UPDATE7 with only Balkan 3.0, .NET4.0 with WIN7 64, MC ver0.3.10.0
When the first time locating BMS, the MC will show an error:after that , loading a save file will pop up an error:
System.OverflowException:
F4Utils.CampLib.FixName(Char[] nameChars)
MissionCommander.fclsMain.FillTeams()
MissionCommander.fclsMain.cboCountry_SelectedIndexChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)
System.Windows.Forms.ComboBox.OnSelectedIndexChanged(EventArgs e)
System.Windows.Forms.ComboBox.set_SelectedIndex(Int32 value)
MissionCommander.fclsMain.FillCountryComboBox()
MissionCommander.fclsMain.SortFiles()
MissionCommander.fclsMain.LoadTE()
MissionCommander.fclsMain.OpenFile(String FileName)
MissionCommander.fclsMain.btnOpenFile_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)
System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e)
System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e)
System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent)
System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks)
System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m)
System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m)
System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m)
System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)seem the error occur when loading the “TEAMS” page. Is the Balkans 3.0 not supported yet?
THX, dude
