Beta Release: GPT (cockpit texture extraction, remote cockpit control, shm mirror)

Eureka!!!
After some more trial/error I was able to narrow the problem down.
In my particular case, what breaks the MFD extraction is the combination of the triple screen resolution (6050x1200) plus the SLI mode set to AFR2.
GPT works with AFR2 if the res is set to 1920x1200 and it works too with surround res if I use any SLI mode different than AFR2.
Always talking here about full-screen, therefore with the BMS launcher option “Cockpit Displays to External Windows” NOT cheched.
AFR mode gives me a very poor performance with a lot of stutters, but I tried SFR SLI mode, and performance and GPU loads are similar to those with AFR2.
So it really made my falcon day!!!
Mission successful. It is a win-win situation because:
- I can run BMS on full screen mode.
-GPT MFDs work waaaaay smother than MFDE.
-I got rid of the flickering MFDs in MFDE.
-I gained the 5-10 extra fps that MFDE extraction was “costing” me.
-I still use MFDE for the rest of the gauges, but with no fps drop.
I am falcon happy :sly:
Thanks again for your nice tool GuiGurra
- I can run BMS on full screen mode.

Good job!
There must be something up with the drivers and texture download when using SLI AFR2. I wonder, if texture download can even be supported in that mode…maybe half the texture is rendered on one GPU and the other half on the other GPU? :). Either way it might be problematic with how gpt is currently implemented…GOOD that you found a workaround!

I run BMS Launcher with -modifiers (-g4 -nomovies). How can I accomplish this with Displays Transmitter.exe? GPT works great for MFD extraction on a multi-screen single PC, by the way.

With some experimenting, I found the solution. simply add the -modifier(s) after the Falcon BMS.exe in the bin\x86 folder. Like this: Falcon BMS.exe -g4 -nomovies.

Readers will observe that I am learning to use and appreciate Gigurra’s Pit Tools. Next question: The extracted RWR displays emitter icon data on a black square. Is there a way to show the RWR display’s threat circles and radials on the GPT RWR extraction, as well as the emitter icons?

Turns out this procedure does not really work. So looking for advice on how to run Displays Transmitter with the .exe -modifiers.

Sorry, not supported at all :(.

Could someone make a video explaining all procedures?:D: Confuso:

Any chance this would work sending MFDs to a new Windows Tablet…?

Any chance this would work sending MFDs to a new Windows Tablet…?
Just give it a try. And post results please.
I cant see the reason why it should not work. It is windows after all.
EDIT:
I just saw your post on the mfde thread regarding the possibility of using the mfds buttons.With gpt you will get only the image displayed by the mfds. GPT is perfect to be displayed underneath the cougar MFDs.
if you want to use the buttons gpt alone is not the way.
This is a long shot, but maybe a combination of gpt/mdfe + touchbuddy us your way to go on that windows tablet.

Did have problem that I got white MFD’s on my slave display while before it was working fine.
Running BMS on main machine and Helios , MFDE, GPT display extract on slave PC.
Both connected via home network.Config setting:
falconhook_shm]
active = 0
name = “GiGurraTexturesSharedMemoryArea”[falconhook_socket]
active = 1
addr = “192.168.0.126”
port = 8051
max_kbps = 100000
max_hz = 50
jpegQual = 70After hours off looking into the problem finally discovered the IP of my slave was changed.
New IP solved the problem :woohoo:Remains a JAVA problem I cannot fix while starting KCR and SHM on my BMS machine via the batch.
Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFounderError: java/lang/invoke/AdapterMethodHandle.Running XP with JAVA 7 update 45.
Running the JAR files directly is working fine, only via batch is giving this error.
Anyone?

Came back to this tool after long break and now new hardware. Also 1st attempt with using on slave PC.
Well I had the empty (white) mfds`s that some others suffered and spent a lot of time trying this and that before I tried something that I did not even expect to work.
When I installed the libjpeg-turbo I chose the 64bit version as per my OS and installed to default location which was
I do not know if the eventual fix was changing to the 32bit version OR selecting install location to c:\program files (x86) but now it works.
Well almost.
Different issue. Unless I make the reader config file read only, the LFMD moves higher and higher up the screen each time the program is run. More exactly it gets taller and wider though the lower and right sides stay where they were while the top quickly moves above the visible screen after just a few runs (the positional numbers become negative). The RMFD does not suffer this.

A conversation with Icarus reminded me that it would be a good idea to post this in this thread to help SLI users.
It s been proven that AFR2 SLI rendering mode works MUCH better than AFR(default one).
But apparently AFR2 has some kind of incompatibility with GPT that makes that only RMFD works.
This can be solved easily changing SLI rendering mode to SFR, which gives roughly same performance as AFR2, no stutters and is fully compatible with GPT.
Enjoy

Hello everyone,
After talking with jcenzano about shadowplay and display extraction while in fullscreen I decided to try GPT. Thought I have way less image stutering and no random HUD image display on my extracted MFD thanks to GPT, it causes some BMS crash. Here are one of my crash log so you can look at it. PC specs below:
Windows 7 Professional 64 bits
Intel Core i5 4670k
8 Go DDR3
Geforce GTX 760 OC
Falcon is installed on my SSDThaks in advance for your help.

i got GPT working. Running only for MFD extraction on same machine. The MFD’s are crystal clear, no stuttering and no flashing. But unfortunatly i lost around 50% of my FPS. Using MFDE is got between 35-40 in campaign, now it get 15-20. Any tips from the GPT experts?
My specs: Core2Duo E8500 @4 GHz, 8GB DDR3, ATI R9 270 Dual-X with 2GB

get somebody to give you his/hers low end computer before it is thrown away and run gpt in a server/client config.
I am not kidding.

This is not a option, not before building a pit.
The question is, why MFD works with lost of just a few fps and GPT eats the half?
-
Question; since with GPT falcon starts by using the display transmitter.exe, how can I use command line options? for example -window or - nomovie

Holy crap… need some help.
First off, i’m using Windows 7 x64. I’ve got an HD5850 running my primary display (1920x1080) and an HD5450 (in the same machine) running 2-7" TFTs (800x600). I’m migrating from the BMS Extraction tool to this slimmer(?) option.
I downloaded and installed Java 7u51 x64… no errors.
Installed libjpeg-turbo-1.2.0-vc64 to c:\libjpeg-turbo-1.2.0-vc64… no errors.
Tried to install vcredist_x64… was told i had a newer version of the C++ libraries installed so i left it as-is.
Extracted DisplaysReceiver and DisplaysTransmitter to C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Bin\x86\Configured DisplaysTransmitter.ini to read:
[falconhook_shm]
active = 1
name = “GiGurraTexturesSharedMemoryArea”Edited config.xml for my L&R MFD. All other options are false.
When i run start.bat, i see 2 white “screens” of the correct size and location on my MFD screens. Looking good.
When i run DisplaysTransmitter.exe, i get an error saying that “turbojpg.dll” is not installed, or cannot be found… can’t recall. BMS then loads but with nothing on the MFD screens.
I uninstalled libjpeg-turbo-1.2.0-vc64 and installed the x86 version, start.bat craps out, but DisplaysTransmitter.exe runs without any errors… but nothing still on the MFD screens.
I then tried uninstalling Java x64 and installed the x86 version in hopes it would work with the turbojpg x86… no dice. I got errors with both start.bat and DisplaysTransmitter.exe.
I feel like i’m missing something pretty basic, but i may have gotten to the point where i’m blinded by frustration. Anyone have any ideas?
