Shoot Trouble
-
I built the pc myself so I know it’s not a performance problem with it.
-
problem solved… has to do with how u use the shoot.
If u use my profile than lol… I just discovered a killer error and some mod thanx to a heads up I hed from another member…I will upload my profile and a link to profile editor.
watch how u activate it to listen for commands.

My BMS Realistic Profile
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?1zyzchal995llnnI have it always on.
For use with teamspeak I disable it by pushing Pause (for push to talk to teamspeak) and Scroll Lock (for push to whisper for teamspeak)
For use with IVC I disable it by pushing Alt+1 (for push to talk to IVC UHF) and Alt+2 (for push to talk to IVC VHF)So that way u have them all…
This is how it looks in editor… The big trick for this problem is the Delay set to 5 and the Pause set to 1.
Hope it helps. Please report back so that other users know.
Is this suppose to solve my problem or Marvin’s problem?
-
Marvin’s for sure. Yours looks like u didn’t enabled voice recognition in the win 7, also if that is the case u didn’t do the voice training from windows, don’t go from shoot for that, for me it doesn’t work.
Either read the article from Dunc in this forum or the one I wrote at BMSWIKI.
Also have u installed the modified .Net version or the stock one from Microsoft? Stock one doesn’t work. Last use higher gain in the Mic settings. -
Actually I was playing around with it tonight and changing the mic gain is what helped. The w7 voice recognition thing doesn’t work with shoot. I used the profile editor to be able to use my VHF/UHF switch on my Cougar HOTAS to turn the mic on and off in the shoot profile so actually, what you posted for Marvin worked for me too. I was trying to figure out how to do that. Now when I switch the UHF in game the Shoot profile is listening too. SWEET!
thanks Arty. It seems to be working great now. A little bit of tweaking and I will have it perfected in no time. -

I’ve also installed Shoot ( thanks Arty), after I had an indifferent experience with Game Commander some years ago. But it only recognizes the occasional command and is pretty unreliable. Had to bomb the control tower out of frustration.
The problem isn’t with Shoot, but Win7 - I think( I’ve tried voice training and a new mic) because its equally bad if I try dictating in Word /Notepad whatever.
-
Please also don’t thank me for Shoot… Dunc started the subject with his article. I just putted some tips and tricks.

Arty,
thx for posting your profile and the editor, shoot happens to be a great tool for adding that extra immersion to the sim. Nevertheless, i still continue with the same issues as Marvins’. The delay set to 5 and pause set to 1 doesn’t seem to solve the problem,at least in my rig.
Everything works fine for me until shoot missunderstands the first command. After that, i get the same issues as Marvin.Any ideas to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
I’m running shoot in WinXP compatibility mode under Win7 64 Home Edition.
Best regards to all

I have the same issue running Win7 64bit with XP compatibility mode and it de-synchronizes after a few commands. SHOOT is the most accurate voice recognition software ive use and is extremely light. It works better than payware voice recognition!
Does anyone have a fix for this? I’ve tried version 6-6.1.4 and it still desyncronizes.

I have the same problem,my OS is win 7 64,After first miss,It become strange,I put the voice command, but it show previous command,I don,t know why ?
-
IIRC there is a small fix for this on the shoot thread - article.
-
I’m coming across this last sent command out of sync issue too. I added the recommended <command-list key-delay=“5” key-pause=“1”>to my profile. Problem is I don’t really want to give up Shoot, especially since I just spent hours updating my ShootComms profile (program that allows you to quickly edit your stock Shoot profile for different assigned callsigns). Any suggestions before I give it the ghost as try jcenzano’s what looks to be excellent Keyspeech profile?</command-list>
-
Is there any other place i can get Shoot profile editor v2 and Voice command other than the home site ?
-
i get an error for win 7 that says “error initializing speech recognition engine(0x80045003). make sure you have correctly installed a SAPI 5.1-compatible speech recognitionengine. shoot will now quit.”
i did that from another post as well as net framework 1.1 and copied text of new config deleted text of old config replaced it with new and saved it so not sure whats happening. i have been at this for like 3 hours and am going to now take a break to fly but i hope someone has seen this before and can help!
thanks in advance

This is an old thread BUT……
Using win7 these days and having reinstalled shoot after a long absence I get the inevitable loss of sync (actually seems evident that there is a blockage build up in the queue of commands that suddenly clears and starts ejecting the stuck ones from the front of the queue as each new one gets entered in at the back) Probably a
simple
debug task for a programmer. Can say a LOT ! of commands before the problem kicks in. If were possible to close and restart from within game I could live with it.Noticed in task manager that the memory consumed while shoot running from normal shortcut is significantly less than when run from shortcut modified with compatibility mode winxp service pack 2 (havnt tested service pack 3). These differences are repeatable in test.
I can not read through ALL the commands in the bms profile before eventual loss of sync but I CAN with the altered shortcut.
Tired of testing so quite possible the fix is false but I`m hoping not as realy prefer shoot. Have not tested at all yet in MP
