Today’s Killer Inspiration
It was brought to my attention yesterday… and I’m continuously hearing it since then… Let’s see if he can beat Dire Straits Brothers in Arms…

Fantastic work Arty. A real improvement!
If I may make one remark:
Those concrete slabs look very worn, like a bumpy ride on Belgian ‘kasseien’. Maybe you can tone down the effect a bit?
-
Great progress! I agree with Snail about the gaps between the concrete blocks.
Some referential material:
-
i prefer larger blocks , but i think we can have both in several runways
very professional work so far Arty !!

If you refer to my posting: my suggestion was not about the size, but about the edges of the blocks.

Hey Arty, thanks for this real cool improvement of the Airbases!!!
But the others a right, the gaps are to big for the litte Tires of our all Sweetie

Not for your post my friend i am speaking generally…
imagine how well and real environment feeling that blocks can make and yes it is in DX9

I made concrete parking for heavy vehicles (weighing even more than a viper) and the joints between the plates are up to 1 cm wide where you insert the sheath that acts as a shock absorber in temperature changes, if you want to make your already very nice job really realistic you should highlight less joints.
Sorry for English, I hope you can understand what I mean -
Agree, although the appearance of wear at the joints is spot-on graphically, the joints in RL do not appear quite so pronounced over a wide view. Perhaps the average joint width should be a bit narrower and a bit more faded to dark gray so that they do not dominate the scene, as suggested above.

clap clap clap ,very very very pretty, the texture look like real great great job I 'm in stand bay to downlod it, good news

Guys ok Ι got it… don’t focus on the block joints please. Those are secondary. I will create others too. The point is to make the textures more nice and precise as much as possible. Yesterday I finished new runway texture with markings…
Looks superb. There is a stretch problem that kills crispiness I had 2 aces up to my sleeves… One got burned let’s hope the second one will do the trick today. Even with the stretch oddity the result is far better then the one we have now.
An example (Right side is stretched):
At first I didn’t even noticed it… but as I went map area by area I spotted it.
Cockpit view doesn’t show but when is animated “feels” like real u feel the movement - speed on the runway :
DAMN those maintainers when will they Finish???:
-
the asphalt of the track is really super realistic, fantastic work
-
Amazing work Arty. With every update you post, the runway textures get better and better.
