ummm
just spotted a problem with the hud brightness being assigned to the rotary wheel.
Doing a ramp start you cant get no HUD even turning the wheel does not show the HUD only untill u unasign the wheel and use the actuall one in the 3d cockpit can you get the HUD to go bright.
From a taxi or runway start the HUD brightness wheel works well
Also experienced this.

Hi again,
Just received my mfds, so im trying to get everything working together. Ive been using this saitek profile, but now that the mfds are plugged in, the profile doesnt work anymore.
Ive noticed that the button numbers associated with each button on the hotas has changed after the mfds were plugged in - they’ve basically been incremented as a result of the 2 mfd panels.
Im not familiar with the keyfile, nor any of the editors. So before i go messing up the keyfile, id like to know what is the simplest way of correcting this?
Should i learn how to edit they keyfile, and create a new profile? If so, should i loom into a keyfile editor?
Thanks,
EDIT: Not sure how I missed this, but marvel_masters post just above explains the same issue, and the solution. So, I basically going to try editing the key file to increment the button positions by 64, as the MFDs has take ID’s 1 and 2.

Hey quick question everyone.
The pinkie switch on my x52 is broken. Is there any way to easily change the shift button to something else?
-
In SST? Yeah. Right click on the “shift modifier” line in the SST profile and select a new key.
-
Hello,
Thanks for great the profile, its really usefull especially as a beginner. Theres only one thing i’d like to change, i’d like to have the trackir precision button on the mouse button and the recenter function on mouse + pinky. So do i have to create a new callback for the precision function? And if yes, how do i do that? Sry for bothering with you with that basic stuff, i tried to figure it out myself but this is way above me. I am either to inexperienced or to dumb or propably both:wfish: -
The precision command is a TrackIR command. F7 by default. So just make a new SST command that pushes the F7 key and you’ll be fine. Make sure F7 doesn’t do anything Falcon or you’ll be doing both actions.
-
I thought about that too, but the problem is, that the buttons are already mapped in the key file and i don’t know how to edit that file:oops:
I opened it with excel and deleted the Trackir entries but somehow now my edited keyfile is .txt file I am obviously doing something wrong and its propably something very stupid that would be very easy, but i am kind a lost -
Excel? Open it in notepad (or one of the 3rd party programs like notepad++, notepad2) but really just notepad. In later versions of Windows it likes to hide file extensions of known file types by default.
Windows 7:
Any file explorer window
Organize
Folder and search options
View
Hide extensions for known file typesThen you can rename FILENAME.key.txt to FILENAME.key
You don’t have to text-edit the .key file to remove a keyboard bind however. Just take an already-used bind (like G for Landing Gear) and assign it to the function you want to be blank. Then assign the key G back to landing gear. Falcon won’t let you bind the same keyboard key to two different functions so the old one is set to blank.
-
Thanks a lot,
I couldn’t find a callback for the precision mode, so i think i will just delete the bindings in the keyfile an bind the keys in SST. -
added to joysticks hot list

It worked perfectly before and now the Pinky switch won’t work anymore… I did add the two lines about pinky switch in falcon BMS.cfg, and I followed the procedure exactly… but still no pinky switch, so I can’t use CMS and all the switched functions… could you help me ?! Is there something I can do ?!
Thanks in advance mates for your help and sorry for my bad english …

I had to run the X52 with its control panel open, and pushed off to the side to have the Pinky shift work properly. Don’t ask me why, but that fixed my lack of shift function.

Hi kesmonkey,
Thanks for all this good work. I’m trying to set up a Saitek X52 Pro throttle w/ a HOTAS Warthog stick (yeah, I’m crazy… What I cannot figure out how to do is just enable the mouse functions on the throttle for the radar cursor / range functions as you have done. I’m looking at your files to figure out how this works. I’ve got your Saitek .pro file loaded correctly, there just seems to be something I’m missing in the BMS controller setup screen for linking this functionality to the cursors. I’m hesitant to try applying your whole setup just because I have everything else working for me, and if I could understand this issue, id be better off. Any advice would be helpful; I’ll continue to read my manuals (Romeo Tango Fox Mike Thx!!

Nice work!

Fantastic profile thank you so much mate

After giving up making my own profile for BMS I started using this one and its great once you get acquainted with it more
But I do have a few questions related to key binds.
Pressing any of the Master modes on the LCD panel does nothing for me. Likewise for some reason trying to activate any of the Master Modes trough the ICP panel does nothing?
Which key is mapped to recording ACMI?
You mapped Flaps but apparently they aren’t used
@Frederf:What airplane are you flying in BMS? There’s no flaps up/down for F-16.
Thanks for the profile KesMonkey
EDIT: I’ve found why I can’t select master modes. Its because of the override modes. The issue is even by deleting the commands from the key file the input is still there. How can I disable the Overrides modes on my joystick?
-
The ACMI switch is located on the left console by the throttle with 3 positions, SimAVTRSwitchOff, SimAVTRSwitchAuto, SimAVTRSwitchOn.
Look throughout the entire .key file. It’s normal for callbacks to appear twice (or more) in the file. Use Ctrl-F to find them by callback name, delete them all, and then add:
SimSelectMRMOverride -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “HOTAS-MRM override mode”
SimDeselectOverride -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “HOTAS-MRM/DF override cancel”
SimSelectSRMOverride -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “HOTAS-Dogfight override mode”This will return them to the .key file in a suitable place so you have blank key binds for when you want to bind them later. It is suggested that you save your .key file as a new name Denco4.key -> Denco5.key for example and then load the new file. This makes sure that you are using the new version and allows you to go back to the old version if the new one has a problem.
-
Ok so this is weird. I did as you advised Freder but for some reason the override commands are still mapped to Mode 1, 2 and 3?
In the options it clearly shows that they are unbind. The profile also shows the Modes as not programed. I am completely lost here.
EDIT: Nevermind I found it
