Real bad stuttering on the ground?
-
Does anyone else experience really bad stuttering on the ground at Ramat David airbase? The framerate will jump between 10-30 fps, but sometimes as much as a second pauses occur too. Once airborne, usually 300 feet plus, everything returns to normal and the frames are glued at 60.
Any ideas what might be causing it? It only seems to happen at this one airbase.
-
All good here. Do you get similar stuttering at Kunsan?
-
I had the same problem on the ground. (other AB’s not tested here)
IIRC it was said it’s a cockpit related bug.
Also IIRC it happens most when you look down to the MFD’s,
“can” be fine if you look above them. The more you look up down, the worse it can get.
Cheers,

No mate - Ramat David is the only one I have experienced this at (so far - haven’t tried every AB yet, but probably 9 or 10 in Israel). Other theaters I have never experienced it.

LSI don’t think it is that - I can sit on the runway using the No.2 key view then if I shift the view up a couple times, it still does it.

Try turning off Vsync and / or focus shadows, if the problem goes away it could be driver related. I think something in Ramat David triggers it - maybe more features than in other airbases or the trees.

+1
SLI AFR2 solved all stutter issues and also gave me a 50% fps boost in BMS. I know, I know, SLI doesn’t work with BMS, but AFR2 did this for me, not sure why.

Sorry, they were already disabled for the sake of maintaining frame rates.
I guess I just need to live with it for now. I could go back and reinstall the nVidia 306.97 drivers cos I know from experience it doesn’t happen with these. Why the hell I bothered to “upgrade” them in fact, I just don’t know. If it isn’t broke, leave it!
Thanks for everyones input. Will report back after I’ve restored 306.97

306.97 seems to have been a pretty solid working set. Im on newer than that personally with no problems noted though.

Sorry fall of parachute in the conversation but, what program do you use to see fps in falcon? i tryed the “EVGA precision x” but not work. in the Israel theater i can not play, when I’m in the middle of the mission due to the amount of things happening at the same time, the screen stays freezing and stays very slow. I dont know if is my CPU or my VGA. In the campaign of Korea this does not happen
my configuration:
CPU: amd phenom II x4 965 - 3,4 mhz
Memory: 8 gb ddr3
HD: 475 gb (195 + 270)
Video card: Asus geforce gtx 550 ti
Windows 7 - 64 bits
motherboard: : ECS A880GM-M7I play with 1024 x 768 resolulution because of my monitor.
-
I have been on the 334.89 since about March(ish) this year, crappy old 285GTX doesn’t warrant any newer.
Went back to the 306.97 and problem has disappeared with no decrease in performance in either BMS or FSX, so I’ll be sticking with them now until I upgrade the graphic adaptor… which may take a good long while yet!

I simply use the in-built frame-rate tell-tale. CTRL+z together, then R on its own after that.

I have the same problem, but as lazystone said when I look above MFD’s its fine

Same here with an old GTX260 … I am trying to revert to older drivers but anytime I uninstall the divers via the controle panel (completely, even by using some tool like Driver Cleaner) and re-install the older drivers, Windows (8.1) is automatically updating again to the lastest nVidia driver!
It is frustrating … I’ve tried almost everything including disabling windows and nVidia auto updates!

Hi there mate.
Well about your issue, do you use a firewall? Since you said that you have disabled the windows updates and Nvidia update, then only a firewall program may be the solution for you ;). Give it a try if you don’t use/have one.

Friend you really need to spend some money on a Real Hard drive. 195 +270 they are so old now.
GTX-550 should still be serviceable.I flew on a PII 955 & HD4850 @1920x1200 with max setting (min AA) for many a year.
It still gets used Arma3 Med/High settings @1920x1200 by my son and grand son here. -

The problem that i quoted above about the israeli theatre was resolved. I installed the new version of theatre (0991) and i didn’t have problems more.

You Speced “HD: 475 gb (195 + 270)” sounded like you were still using some very old HDs
Cheers

Nikos.Using Windows defender ATM. But it is the same even if I disconect my computer from Internet. NVidia divers Updates seems to be stored somewhere and are loaded anytime I restart my PC.
Should be something else. Will try be unactivating the video updates.
