Night time and AI
-
Hey guys,
I’ve looked around for quite some time for this on this forum and elsewhere but couldn’t find a post discussing this.
Is there a difference between day and night when it comes to the AI’s situational awareness of your aircraft or other things?
I.E. Is there any situation where executing a mission at night gives you any advantage?Cheers!

it does not seem so - in my experience the AI are just as aware and deadly at night, even when they don’t have radars or optical night fighting equipment.

Thanks for the reply, mate. I suspected as much.
Cheers, and keep up the great videos!

Dear all,
I found the info related to ‘AI logic at night’ in the BMS432 change log. This means AI has a different view in night.
Fix for AI eyeball acuity. Chances to spot jets should be higher by eye if the target jet has lights on–more at night and
in bad weather than in mid-day sun. There was code in there for this idea but it wasn’t working because of confusion
over light state flags. This should be fixed now so AI should be less oblivious at night in WVR scenarios.
