Iff you could have one thing in the next update it would be. (Archive)

We pre-brief and I add a note on my kneeboard, and usually add it as a steerpoint. But it would be nice to have it show up on the 2D map so I didn’t have to disseminate the information to the rest of the flight, and they could pick it up themselves.
On the 2D map, just select a base/strip ahead of time and set steerpoint before takeoff. Would that be an option?

Well, when you specify a divert field it throws a special marker over it, indicating that it’s the alternate field so anyone in the flight can see it.
Similar functionality for a divert field would be nice.

Correct me if I’m mistaken but can’t we do that already?
Can’t we add more than two landing steerpoints in our flightplan?
Cheers Scub

Yes We Can!

With a DIVERT FIELD marker on the 2D map?
I didnt ever see one of these, but you can use a PPT ( a edited one, which says Divert Fiels or sth else )

Hmmm If I ever get flying again I will try this.

Good one Korbi!
PPT of 0.1nm with three letter coding

A fully functioning Balkans campaign without horrid performance.

Although not the best option for most…using the moving map (on my tablet) works great when trying to find a friendly base to land at. Since I do not plan ahead of time for emergency landings, this is the option I use. However, does not help others to land at the same base unless you give them the coordinates of the base you are landing at…which can be done.

Yea, you can demolish the whole house and build a new one when you want to paint the room yellow…later if u decide blue is better, u can demolish it again, build and paint your bedroom blue…
Can we talk about the issue rather than framing as some nonsensical analogy?

Some BMS team members (even terrain focused ones) are still unaware of this.
What issue? The problem about diagonals?

I don’t think I have read this before, so here we go:
An improved AA TACAN and DL simulation that actually depends on the set frequencies/channels/addresses (the current one is limited to members of your F4 package)
Could be quite useful in dynamic MP events and even FoF

correct implementation of the IDM would be nice. Certainly would be a good stopgap from full MIDS functionality.
Is there a problem with the AA TACAN?

??? What do you want to improve?

Indeed. But that is a good example of why this or that feature is down on the prio list.
To work properly, especially with IA, IDM would need us to get rid of the current radio system inherited from the Microprose days, and have a real frequency system.
So unfortunately, dont hold your breath.

Correct me if I’m wrong (as I haven’t tested this recently), but at the moment I think you can only home on your package members (same than DL) and tankers.
If, lets say, you would like to home on another human aircraft that does not pertain to your package, this would be impossible with the current implementation IIRC.

Well this is definitely the case for the current IDM implementation. Not seen this problem with AA TACAN before though?

I may be wrong with the TACAN in that case, sorry for that
But, yep, the core issue I wanted to bring in is, as l3crusader called it, having a “real frequency” AI radio/IDM implementation. Hopefully we will see that someday in the long term.
