Mig-29 cockpit

Thaeris, as my good friend TagKnigt would say “read this”

Are you referring the incident of 611-Eagle and “his” 3D models?
Yes, more or less… I do not know how it is going, or if it is still allowed by the BMS moderators, but I will not be worried with that. I can make one from scratch, of course it will not be awesome as the Eagle’s models, but can be used in F4 BMS community in order to have fun.
Now, Nizmo is claiming he has the rights for those models, but they are now EBS models, and I do not have any right to them… I am not worried, and I do not want to know about either.
I will make my models as my “targets”.
To Shadow again: My last wrongly try to connect to the new 801st server is now fixed. I did not change anything… I just restart the modem/router and now it is working, ate least for now. I will try later at night. BTW, I tried to post this in the "General Discussion - Falcon 4 Support, Tips & Tricks " thread in the 801st forum, but I am not allowed to start a new topic on that.

Metalhead,
What you do is exactly what we are trying to achieve as mods : work in full transparence.
You come up saying upfront that it’s not fully your work, it comes from another entity and you asked permission to use it and distribute it freely amongst BMS users.
you did get permission from the original author. Then your bona fides are obvious and you won’t get any trouble from the moderators
We ask no more -

I have received rights to the Su27 and SU30, but I do not plan on building these cockpits. New cockpits will be built with full BMS perms.

Edited, because he does not deserve any “good” reply… so nothing to say about his comments anymore

I am trying to recreate the source files of the textures now. I will need it in order to have the labels translated to English, but, It is difficult to find a Russian font which fits the original made by Sergey “Mercenary_Mercury” Salov. I need for sure someone who can read and type/write in Russian to help me with this work. Otherwise it will take more then “10” falcon weeks to be finished, or, people will fly a real Russian jet, with all labels in Russian…
I spent 30 minutes in only one word and I could not make it as good as possible…
Hey someone Russian out there, help me!!!:D:D:D -
OSD and SpgGoro as I know are native Russians speakers.

Great project Metalhead, I am excited to fly it in the future. Cough, cough, above the sands of Somalia comes to mind, cough cough. A big thanks to Sergey “Mercenary_Mercury” Salov for granting permission to use his work in BMS.

I learned one year Russian but even I can read many text I simply do not understand their meanings.

You might wan’t to try Typophile.com, it’s a very talented community that has helped me a number of times in identifying the fonts I needed. Maybe they can help you with the font part.

Thank you Mapi, I am now reading it, and it explains a lot, but, many features of the mig29 will be worthless…. Just “eye candy” again… Well I will try to add the f16 functionality to the mig29 as close as possible to its own functionalities.
Thank you for sharing the manual.

Ok, after some months without any “work” on this pit, here is a picture of the labels changed. one part so far. (lots of work to do)
I decided to change the labels to match the F16 cockpit functionality, because it will be, as F22 pit only eye candy. I have read the mig 29 manual, and its functionality does not fit F16 ones, so the best IMO is to change as the F16, BUT some of them will not be exactly in the same position… (difficult to do so).
a picture of the work: The labels still in Russian will not have functionality
Regards Metalhead -
this is going to look amazeballs once it’s done
-
On the video, it seems ugly, but it is nice. a well done pit from Sergey “Mercenary_Mercury” Salov…. FlightGear member.
-
They say beauty is only skin deep, or in this case texture deep
-
That is because they didn’t see the beauty on the 3d model itself…, the meshes, the edges… all really well done. I wonder how can Sergei did so good cockpit without any double surface, or double vertex. I could not find anything wrong or bad done so far in the 3d pit…
Of course it is a representation of the real 3d cockpit, and may not be exactly as the real one… but F4BMS members will enjoy it a lot…
