Dive, my following advice may not help you with your problem now, but i’m sure it will in the future:
Make a Image of your harddrive and of your BMS folder on an regular basis so you can go back to an working system or BMS installs just with a few clicks and without this annoying re-install shit.
For example, i make EVERY month a new image of my system disk (which holds also my BMS install) and i make EVERY week a new copy of my BMS folder. Especially before installing add-ons, new drivers or hardware, changing key file etc.
In case of the BMS folder its just a matter of a minute, i’m just right-clicking my BMS folder and pack it in a RAR-file named with the actual date. Storing image or RAR-file on a second harddisk is mandatory.
I promise you this will save you from so much hassle in the future and save hours of your percious free-time!

and you believe everything that is written on internet ?
Yeah sure,
err no,
uhmmm dunno,
but IIRC it was a BMS member who analogously said “Everything on internet is a fact” on old GF forums.

Me too, but not that often.
BTW. @ Shadows post.Maybe the guys had problems with their audio card ? No idea but anyway the thing is not a rule at all
I was just trying to help and to plug in a headphone for gaming (no need during install) has helped at least two guys
and it doesn’t hurt, so I thought it’s worth a try.Cheers,

Good new! It’s up and running!
On the 10th install, (maybe because I’m an idiot) I decided to not install every single Windows 7 update before installing BMS. I stop the updates at Windows 7 Service Pack one, deleted the AMD GPU Tweak software, installed BMS, and it works. Thank you all so much for offering advice and support. I’ve never had a BMS problem before and there are so many little nuances that I had no experience with. Thank you all for all of your input. Great community!

Someone else recommended I do this too. I went out and bought two new 1 TB Western Digital hard drives and installed them both and took out the old 128GB Samsung Pro SSD. I installed Acronis software and will be keeping a close of a working setup from this point forward. Thanks for the idea my Reaper. I’m sure it’s going to save future problems.
Best to you…

Any.gpu software update could be a problem as.well.
I put my bet on the amd.software since.crashlog reported.gfx problem
-
Yeah, deleting AMD GPU Tweak software could have been the solution.
Thank you all again! Really…

I have the courage, I just might not have it exactly at this moment, having survived a nightmare quite recently.

Dive
go back to your SSD and try the BMS install again. It will load much faster and so will any other software like DED and VAC if you are using it. -
Oh, and by the way, you are not an idiot although the shit you have to go through with PC’s and Windows can make you feel like one. I dont use one for work and so my only use of a PC is Falcon. Having been a Mac guy forever I was used to the POS always working (but that isnt so true anymore) and not having to think about all the crap you have to know just to get a computer to even start up. It’s not you. IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT. Remember Matt Damon and Robin Williams in “Good Will Hunting” IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT.
You shouldn’t have to know all these tricks and tips just to make a pile of used pinball machine parts function. Sadly that is what we have to make our sims work. But just wait till you get the whole pit working and fly one perfect mission and you will have a big smile on your face and it will all be worth it. Then something will break and you start the cursing all over again. Trust me. i know. It’s the way of the future…the way of the future…the way of the future…it’s the way of the future…the way of the future… -
Hi Guys
I had the same issue and AMD Game Evolved was causing BMS to CTD while entering into a mission.
I uninstalled this program through Windows Control Panel’s uninstall tool and now everything is ok. I cand fly again.
Note that AMD Game Evolved appears as Raptr on control panel’s uninstall tool, and the worst was that I didn’t realize when this program was installed.

It’s the way of the future…the way of the future…the way of the future…it’s the way of the future…the way of the future…You’re hilarious Nigel. All very true. All things to learn. For a minute there…I was feeling like the monkey at the beginning of 2001: A Space Odyssey, but I’m cool now. It was frustrating because I just got everything programmed. All of the keystrokes for all of the panels were programmed in F4IM. The 32 Light Caution Panel and the Air Cores and the DED and the PFL were programed and functioning with the ElectronFlux. The CPD bezel buttons were wired and I was going to test them in the sim when it crashed. I was installing Windows all day long every day for 4 days. I must have installed it and updated everything at least 10 times. Totally crazy.
In the end, what Gavilan said. "I had the same issue and AMD Game Evolved was causing BMS to CTD while entering into a mission.
I uninstalled this program through Windows Control Panel’s uninstall tool and now everything is ok. I cand fly again.

Now that he mentions that, I do remember uninstalling Raptr as a last ditch, not knowing what it did or anything. I think that’s what fixed it.
Now, on to why my CPD quits when I switch to the Maps page. It’s never-ending…

I agree with you completely. Now that you mention Raptr, I’m sure it’s the culprit. Thanks for your help man.

AMD Game Evolved is a confirmed issue.
I had this a couple of days ago even with 4.33. BMS was crashing all the time on startup.
After three days I found out, that AMD Game Evolved had an update and since than it was all fu$§ed up…Anyway, I am not allowed to quote directly from the dev forum. So this is from memory:
AMD Game Evolved is malicious crap without any use. You should not install it under any circumstances…
And that was the friendly version…
