GEMFX - bring the visuals of BMS to the next level! :)
-
Itās just for sceenshot or in real time in game ?ā¦
-
Fps impact?
-
Still havenāt had a chance to try it, but nevertheless thank you for sharing it with us.

Since when my eyes experience lens flare effect?
Real-time in game
It is lens flare then!? Oky ā¦ I thought it was fingerprints on the screen:
ā¦ for me (personal opinion): counterproductive (especially if it cost FPS, even 1 or 2).
Maybe (maybe?) ā¦ to be tested for some NGVs specific rendering. Maybe. (?)
In a rules of thumb, I am no a fan-boy of such thing ā¦ if it were better with different color schemes (more realistic etc ā¦) we would have set them by default in BMS.
The āonlyā thing that might be improved, is the blue/dark blue gradient with altitude increasing (Sky should be darker at hight alt passing FL250 and more) -
I read that post-operation eye surgeries can produce similar secondary effects on short/medium termā¦ so in some way itās realistic
More seriously I think the only visual tweaks worth it are some small contrast and colorimetry adjustmentsā¦ but not necessary at all since BMS alone does the job very well.

Only depending on which kind of air mass you are talking about. Since it is not dynamic now in Falcon, sky always been set as āhazy/smoggy skyā which is giving a very grayish landscape.
With the well known (in Falcon4) grey band on the horizon which is considered by many ppl as non realistic.

Please, anybody for help me for correct install GEMFX ?
(I have to install in Bin.folder, but it donāt workingā¦)
Thanks.

Minimal, atleast 1-2fps with all features switched on
and your hw specs please? cause if u have a monster pc 1-2 ok in an average pc - vga it might be moreā¦
looks good and realisticā¦ pilots have all those from canopy and helmet visor etcā¦ details like those are non important in actual simulation but add way much to immersion. Personal preference, so since your machine can handle it and doesnāt cause problems to the simulation nor takes time from the BMS coders itās a good thing.

What are you talking about? Fingerprints on the visors?
-
When u r behind 1-2-3 layers of glass and specially in direct sunlight environment and those surfaces aināt pure clear by definition or other params (dust scratches etc) the vision aināt crystal clear as with eyes directly looking without glass in front or whatever.
and since reflections are static in BMS those kind of effects makes it come closer to reality. -
those kind of effects makes it come closer to reality.
?
In fact ā¦ nope. (Unless maybe you are a pig with your helmetās visors. Personally, I carefully cleaned the visors every time before the flight)
-
The biggest problem to me is the lens flare. You CANNOT have that irl because is a typical issue with camera lens, not with human eyes. So itās not a problem of adding realism, or of durty helmet visor, or whatever, itās just not correct at all.
And even bad, youāll never had two lens flare in the opposite direction, this is stupid. -
Well when in dusty environment and a ray of light comes in u see it. U could say this lens flare effect could be assumed the same.

Yeahā¦

If you can see a ray of sun due to the dust, you should kick your crew chief for not cleaning your pit like he should have
Seriously, as a photographer I can only say a lens flare is not the same as a visual ray of lightā¦
As amraam & dee-jay say. A flare is not something a human eye can see and one should clean his expensive material paid for by tax payers, so I donāt get the clue of the proposed āmodāā¦ -

Never see that, for information ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_flare

Alright guys, I see alot of debating over lens flare but not enough of people ACTUALLY using the mod. Too much book cover judging and not enough playing with the mod.
Hereās the thing, the lens flare is OPTIONAL. Infact, every effect in GEMFX is OPTIONAL! Get it?
If you want lens flare, great. Use it and tick the box. Same with the other effects. If you donāt want a certain effect, untick it. You can use GEMFX to only play with the contrast, saturation and brightness of the image if thatās all you want to do OR you can make it look like Battlefield 6, lol, go right ahead. Up to you.
But please, to anybody who is criticizing it, you make the fallacy of your argument about what you see from what iāve posted in the screenshots rather than having actuallyā¦ you knowā¦ download it, test it out and try it yourself. The screenshots iāve posted are with all the effects on. But remember, all the effects are optional. What you want to use is up to you. Chill & be cool.
