Oh and by the way:
There are no random malfunctions - more exactly it is turned off in the code
Not true, there’s a value in the config file you can set active for that.

doing FLCS check have already “save” me because stick can have issues. Two weeks ago, I’ve seen a problem with my rudder during the ramp start when I’ve done the rudder check.
Indeed, happened to me too. Found that the stick was not centered when starting the computer, so it was “centered” with 50% nose down. Would have been funny once in the air
Only if you need comedy relief! :uham: Otherwise “Krause” & “Instructor” should never be in the same sentence! (Just an honest opinion & constructive critisism from a USAF Instructor).
To pick this up…: In my opionion, krause’s videos are really good, but it would be nice if they would split up in smaller parts with more compact learning objectives.
However, the most of us do not have any educational background. I really thank Krause for putting something up that helps newbies to get started with BMS to let our small community grow.
That doesn’t mean one can do better. What do you think how a good training video should look like?

Estimated time for the release is 3 weeks from now.
Nikos.3 “world weeks” or “falcon weeks”?
Thanks a lot for this great theater!

That about sums it up. Krause’s videos are good, because there is little better. Almost wrote nothing better, then I recalled Wizard has a few ramp start videos out there that trump Krause’s stuff.
Pointers for my opinion on a good training video:
- a good training video should cover a specific topic, and provide a general overview of that topic. It should not attempt to be an in depth instruction for that - we have manuals for that. If the video is a verbatim reading from the manual, its pointless.
- a good training video should be concise, with a specific set of learning objectives which are clear and follow a logical progression. See Art of the Kill for a sterling example.
- a good training video should contain no errors. Constant errors of omission, or of commission, invalidate the training material. If the manual contradicts the video, you have a problem.
- a good training video should make use of audiovisual techniques unavailable to the static manual, to teach concepts normally requiring face to face instruction in a manner not possible from a manual.
Of course, that requires a lot of planning and a lot of work. The fact that a lot of effort went into previous videos is evident. If effort alone is commendable, then Krause’s efforts thus far are commendable. As noted, he has at least released a plethora of videos trying to explain complex concepts and ideas. Those of us that scoff at the errors also presented as fact, also have not released much in the way of training videos.

BMS-Manual p38 (in your :\Falcon BMS 4.32\Docs\Falcon BMS Manuals folder) has a section explaining their usage.
BMS-Dash1 (same place) SECTION II NORMAL PROCEDURES also has written instructions on the Ramp Start procedure.Make sure you’re one of the Tower frequencies before you ask the Tower (via the ATC Radio menu) to remove chocks.
